Don't let ANYONE tell you that you shouldn't go to the emergency room if you are in pain.

Hi ,
I was just wondering if you found out what it was ? I'm 13 and still a virgin and I haven't kissed anybody yet .... About 4-7 days ago I thought Id shave down there.... And about yesterday I noticed a small little bump near my my vagina . It hurts really bad tonight and it's tender to the touch . I tried to see if there was pus and it sorta does look a little pus in it . I'm a little embarrassed to tell my mom or go to the doctor .... Any advice ...?

I had er pop a hair bump that was there for months. Red head little thing. I went to er for something unrelated but then asked Dr. to check it out..she grabbed it and popped it. Hurt like hell for 2 seconds but I couldn't get it to pop myself and I figured just having someone with a swiftness and accuracy pop it for you is better especially if you are not expecting it.

That is actually untrue. I developed what I brushed off as an ingrown hair, that ended up landing me on IV abx andPO abx for sepsis. I couldn't walk for a few days because the pain was so excruciating. Definitely an exception to the rule, but it does happen.

Your no medical professional that's for sure must not even have spell check,An infection like that can easily end up being a bad infection I have had MRSA if you even know what that is but that can spread quickly be highly contagious. And be life threatening I was hospitalized and put on Intravenous antibiotics (Vancomycin) and it started as a small pimple on my knee that was spreading extremely fast being a Nurses Aid and cleaning bed pans doesn't make you much of a Medical Professional

I've had that problem too. It looks like a hair bump. If you mess with it the bump will get bigger and you can put hot compressions on the bump. It will bust and pus, blood and some brown stuff will come out of the bump. Use some bactericide ointment so it doesn't get infected but it is a hair bump not a std and it can be shared if you have sex

Wow you are the biggest as****e I've come across. Please return back to school and learn how to spell. Is this how your mother raised you? To leave such negative responses on this website? Shame on you and I feel so bad for people that have to deal with you on a daily basis.

Actually I have an ingrown hair in my pubic area that got so bad, it made a hole. And if you never have had an ingrown hair infection and think the don't hurt you're in for a rude ass awakening. By the way I'm currently in the waiting room of the ER to be seen for my ingrown hair. So before you judge "us people" get your facts right.

Ingrown hairs can actually be a dangerous thing. My brother had one at the base one his spine and he ended up having to have surgery for it to be removed. The surgery left a hole the size of a lemon in his back and he wasn't allowed to do excessive physical activity for around 2 years while it was healing in case of infection. Also, if it had been left any longer it may have wrapped around his spine and caused him to be a paraplegic. So going to the ER about a ingrown hair could sometime be the right thing to do.

Really your a "medical professional"? What a joke that is. Who the hell are you to say what is a emergency. As a "professional" you should know these things can get infected and cause a blood infection. Tour job is to help people not give your worthless 2 cents

A medical professional? Lol. I highly doubt it. Infected ingrown hairs can be very serious if left untreated. In fact, I had one in my groin area (size of a golf ball) that sprouted up over the course of 48 hours. I went to an urgent care clinic near by my house. The doctor there wanted nothing to do with it, he said it needed to be drained immediately and because of the area it was in (located a little too close to my artery) I would need to visit the local ER. Oddly enough I didn't come across any medical proffesionals like yourself who thought I was silly for coming into the ER over an ingrown hair. They decided to keep me over night, hook me up to an antibiotic iv and run a bunch of tests. Sometimes the oral antibiotics just don't do the trick for infections. In conclusion, in grown hairs are not why ERs are so crowded...
