- proffesional (professional)
- obsurd (absurd)
- emergincies (emergencies)
- hospitalzation (hospitalization)
I'll skip the rest because it's mostly just grammatical stuff but come on.

A lot of people misspell words when they're rushing or whatever. Even doctors. In fact, many professional people can't spell simply because it's not necessary for them to be good spellers. What really irritates me is that any medical professional would EVER respond to someone with a health concern in such an accusatory, unprofessional, careless manner. If a doctor, nurse, medical assistant or clinic receptionist ever spoke to me that way it would be my mission to make sure everyone knew about it. That person is clearly not a medical professional of any kind, and if he or she is, hopefully not for long. People who care about others' well being don't approach them in that way. What we obviously have here is a surfer who goes on forums to find things about which to insult people because of his or her own insecurities. By the way, Mr/s. Proffesional, people often go to the ER when they're scared--this isn't an issue of the uninsured flooding the ER waiting rooms. For example, if you went to the ER because you thought your ego was about to make your head explode, and then someone who was afraid that an ingrown pubic hair might be something more serious was seen before you, that would be an example of how the ER works. Priority first. People aren't educated about their bodies in every aspect at any point of life unless there is advanced health educationi involved. I say, if you're insured, you're worried, and you can't get an appointment soon enough, go to the ER for God's sake. You're seen according to priority anyway. But please, people, call your advice nurse first. They can be really helpful. And the Internet--especially when advice comes from douche bags like our proffesional friend on here--is not always reliable, and is never a substitute for reputable medical advice. When in doubt, do what you feel you need to do. It's your body, after all. Right? :)

I would go to the ER if you start getting other symptoms similar to the flu. I had an ingrown hair as I have gotten before so I thought nothing of it. A few days later it greew a lot bigger than normal and was really painful. That same day I got a really high fever and chills and called my doctor. When I came in she immediately said I needed to go into the emergency room. By this time the ingrown hair had grown to the size of a golf ball. Turns out I got a staff infection from the ingrown hair and was hospitalized for 8 days. At first doctors thought I had MRSA or sepsis which terrified me. Even though they ruled that out they said if I had waited even a day longer I could have died. So to all those who say it's absurd to go to the ER for an ingrown hair, I say it's better to be safe than sorry.

I get ingrown hairs every once in awhile in my pubic area. It is slightly painful. To me it feels like a brand new zit on my face ready to pop. That's about as painful as it gets. It does puss and bleed when I pop it, but after a day or two the swelling goes down and it's gone. I have never thought about going to the doctor or the ER for this. After reading everyone elses experiences with them, compared to mine, it makes me wonder if that is truly what you all are experiencing, because the pain should not be that bad. I can't be sure on that though, cause everyone is different. Even though the pain isn't that bad with me, it still pusses and bleeds when I pop it. Does that mean it's infected? It doesn't feel like it is and it goes away shortly afterwards.

People stop whining about grammatical errors, who cares everybody makes mistakes. I'm not an english professor nor is anybody else posting replies. Now for the ingrown hair's I get them sometimes too. If it gets really bad and infected yes by all means go to the er if you want but your wasting time and money when you can go to your doctors office. The er isnt going to do anything different. Most er doctors have a private practice anyways. Get off the nurses back what she stated is the truth! People do go to the er for bs reasons, my mother is a nurse and Ive seen it first hand. People take nurses for granted! They are the ones who do all the work while the doc comes in and says the same thing the nurse did and walks right back out. My mother spent alot of time and money getting her degree's...yes I meant plural. She is the best nurse Ive ever met and its not just because she's my mom! She takes great pride in her work and has helped alot of people while occasionally getting treated like c**p by the crazie's. All you people that think you know what your talking about just need to shut your mouth. I can guarantee 99% of yall have never had any medical training so be quiet and leave the replies to people who actually know what they are talking about not just what happened to you. Everybody is different and you can get someone in worse shape than they're in by misinformation!!!!

If you were a medical professional you would know how to spell correctly. I believe you are what we call in Australia a 'sh*t' talker.. or possibly the janitor?

Ive been randomly getting an ingrown pubic hair every once in a while the last 8 years ( since high school) and I've had one of these big boys twice, one 3 or 4 years ago and it was like a small ping pong ball and it hurt when I walked and sat and it sucked because my belt would sit just right above it while I worked and it hurt. I saw a doctor the first time cuz I had a minor back strain and I thought it was a hernia. He said it's ok, it's just an ingrown hair and quickly explained sometimes some people just get a "good" ingrown and they can jump from a pimple that you can pop no problem to a big old ball of pain. they clear up but if the size doesn't go down then yes the doctor wants to help you and drain it via syringe no problem and the actual hair itself usually wont show itself until its almost all healed up. It's just deeper under the skin than normal. I wouldn't recommend popping it until after the "horrible" pain goes away and the bump itself is more red. the warm cloth is great, once the skin is soft enough it'll probably look stretched and red and pop away otherwise if your "lucky" enough to get it to pop while its still large and painful, you're gonna be in for painful extra few days and exta chance of infection. I know because I popped one too early and "explored" for the hair with the needle and now have a nice fat little scar for life. Shaving and most hair removal seem to only increase the odds. And yea it can be embarassing but don't worry its not an STD, look those up and you'll quickly realize.
