Day 10-- almost better. Except for the worst constipation ever. I haven't gone for 11 days. Tried correctol and fiber cereal- still not working... Any ideas? Wish I would have taken fiber throughout this ordeal.

These were the things that helped me most during the past ten days. I happened to be on a diet and tried to keep to it but after a while I just said forget it! After all, I wasn't eating much at all.
-broth
-sugar free pudding (like 3-4 a day! Saved me)
-water and more water
- no juice, no crystal light
-seltzer, diet cola
-Roxicet was my pain killer-tasted bad and hurt, but worked.I use a medicine syringe and just squeezed it down my throat with a sip of water and clenched my teeth! Around day 7 ran out and was not able to go to Dr to pick up rx so I received hydrocodone- doesn't work so well.
-cool whip
-no fruit
-didnt like ice cream
-sugar free popscicles-fudgicles
-menthol cough drops
-pumpkin pie filling
-overcooked ziti (Day 9- still ouch)
-soft boiled eggs
-oatmeal

This really was one of the most painful ordeals- still hurts today. It will hurt in your ears- sometimes out of no where you will feel a burning bee hive stinging feeling in your throat. People won't understand after a few days- best advice? Clean your room well before surgery, you will be in it for a while! Rent movies, read, don't talk.

I know this will be for the best- but as far as doing activities or having company...you could do a little, but likely will not want to.

im on day 2 of my tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. they gave me morphine which didnt help at all and made me itch like crazy, now im on endone which im taking double doses of to even be able to swalow at all, inbetween nurofen and panamax. im still pretty itchy though, has anyone else got that, and should i be worried?
it takes me a really long time to choke down some food because i can barely open my hugely swollen mouth but eating does help the pain meds and ease it a little. also, will they give me more endone if the pain is still this severe when i run out?

I noticed a variety of post-operative pain levels, as well as a variety of method of removal. By which method was your tonsillectomy performed, and how was your pain? Thanks. My procedure is coming out next week.
