I am 34 pregnant and have a 15 and 7 year old. Well I have had 2 leep surgeries after my kids and just had my 2nd one 51/2 mths ago. I just found out I am pregnant about 5 or 6 weeks. I am scared that I will not beable to carry this baby. Has anyone ever been through this?
Hi Hon: I just checked on several sites, and narrowed it down for you.

After LEEP, there is a 10% chance of preterm delivery. 2 things CAN occur after leep, either your cervix become hardend - similar to scar tissue, causing it to take longer to dialate when you are in labour. Then there is the opposite, where your cervix is open and loose. I have known several women who have had to have a "cerclage" it's a simple procedure to just sew your cervix shut, then they snip it open when you are ready to give birth.

What you do need to do is let your doctor - who will be doing the delivery - what you have gone through. So he/she can get the reports and then just keep an eye on your cervix!

Just be checked on a regular basis, I would hazzard a guess that it would be more frequent than when you had your other children. Best just to keep an eye on everything, and the doctor and hospital be totally informed.

So Congratulations!!!! And Good Health, and a safe and healthy delivery, and of COURSE a happy healthy bouncing bundle of joy!!!! XD Good luck hon!

Well the doctor who performed my leep is my obgyn. Before I even got the leep done my obgyn asked me if I planned on having anymore kids and I told her NO... This was a oops and now here I am pregnant and worried. I go see her Thursday. I been doing some reserch on this myself and I have read some pretty hopeful stories. I never had to go through a miscarriage and I am really worried about that. I have to just believe everything happens for a reason and God has my best intrest. I just want to thank you for taking the time out to reply back...

Thanks

Lisa

Even though you are really worried right now, I want you to understand that you are not alone and that you are going to be fine no matter what happens, you will be fine. You mentioned that God has your best interest so I would encourage you to keep thinking that way.

Yes, it is possible that you will have a miscarriage, but it was possible that you would have a miscarriage when you had your other kids too. You will be fine, whatever happens. Please let us know how things turn out.
