Problem in genital area

I have been sexually active for a few years, got a pap smear done and was told noting wrong. I am currently with my new boyfriend who has never been with any other person. I noticed he had pimples on his genital area before but they weren't that bad. I have them now, atleast I hope they are, and they are worse then his. They get really sore, never on the lips just on the sides, inner thighs, and top of my vagina. My boyfriend now gets them on his genitals and around the area, I used to live with a someone who had genital herpes. Never ever was sexually active with this person. Could I get it from a toliet seat, razor blade ( that she used without telling me )? Or is it a bad case of the pimples? I am just worried.
