me and my girlfriend found out today we have chlamydia and we have been proscribed a two day course of doxycycline. We are considering having sex with a condom , would this affect the treament? Also, how would we find out if there is any long term damage such as infertility?
FIRST OF ALL! IF YOU HAVE CHLAMYDIA YOU SHOULD BE TAKING A 7DAY SUPPLY OF DOXYCYCLINE! AND WAIT UNTIL YOU GET A NEGATIVE REPORT BEFORE YOU HAVE SEX WITH YOUR PARTNER! IM SURE YOU CAN WAIT AND NO ONE APPEARS TO WORRY ABOUT WHO CONTRACTED THE DISEASE. AND NEXT TIME IT MAY BE HIV. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

if you want to have PROTECTED sex with YOUR partner do your thing... it is ill advised, however just make sure you are safe! as supposed to @SHERYYK39 i think your comment is insensitive... you clearly have NO idea about adult relationships. who caught what from who, where and how is completely irrelevant. all you two need to worry about is getting both of you a negative result. I'm not too sure why you are both on a 2 day course as i am told it's 7-10. however your situation may be different, @SHERYYK39 you have NO right to tell them about HIV infections, Infections can be transmitted through any one and any time. please don't be so naive, i think it's you that needs the wake up call sweets.

have a safe sex life guys, wish you all the best.

Actually, the amount of time you're taking a medication has nothing to do with curing an infection; it's the dosage lol you've probably had it yourself since u think you know it all. If you have a monogamous sex partner you should be okay. But even tho you only took 2 days of medicine doesn't mean your infection is gone. It still takes at least 7 days to clear up. But if u can't wait 7 days at lest wait til the third day when most of the bacteria should be gone and use a condom. Hope this helps!

She cannot be a UK dr as the duration for this type of infection is 5-7 days
