I am a 17 yo female, 5'5'', 132 lb and around I've been drinking on parties etc since the age of 16 (it's legal where I live). Anyway I was always one of those people that could hold their booze very well and I was always able to control how much I'd had to drink and when to stop. I never got sick and was never really hung over. I went out to drink maybe once a month, or once every two months. Three days ago I was at a party and I don't feel like I had more to drink than usually (and my friends say the same). Well something must've happened because I woke up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning, can't remember the rest of the night (apparently I was throwing up and hit my head before starting to shake in a seizure-like manner but I was already unconscious at that point). I hadn't been eating a lot the past week and a half due to stress and I hadn't had a lot to eat the day of the party. Also I didn't drink any water with the booze, which I usually do. Those are the only things I can think of that would have caused this. But would my metabolism slow down so significantly within only a bit more than a week (I lost around 6 lb)? Or may something else have caused it? I read about some sudden intolerances etc... The weird thing is that I was at a party two weeks prior to this and I was fine there so any "sudden" change must have been very sudden indeed...please help I need someone to explain this.
