I am 40 years old and have 3 children and a tubal 6 years ago. I had the Novasure procedure with hysteroscopy 5 days ago on March 16th. The actual procedure couldn't have been more pleasant (well as pleasant as it could be). I had it done in an outpatient surgery center attached to my local hospital. Everyone was really wonderful and my GYN was fantastic as well. I did wake up in pain similar to contractions but the nurse in recovery was very liberal with the pain meds!! I was discharged about 2 hours later with a script for motrin and vicodin but only needed them on day 1 and 2. My main complaint is that i have near constant pain in the left side near my ovary. I also feel a mild continuous cramping and I'm so tired. I tried to go to work on day 3 but left at lunch due to cramping. I have stayed home since and now its Sunday and I am actually nervous about going to work tomorrow. I havent felt like doing anything at all - even laundry tires me out. I have suffered from heavy heavy periods since my daughter was born 6 years ago and it has hindered my life greatly, so I am hoping that this works to change all that. Good luck to all out there!!!

I had the Novasure outpatient proceedure done yesterday morning, and so far so good- minimal cramping, very light spotting....except I can't sleep. Could be left-over nerves, could be effects of anasthetic/ follow up drugs (I am also just getting over the shingles, which are *no fun* at all)...but the not-sleeping thing is the only problem.
Previously to having this, I was bleeding since early March (that makes 4 1/2 months)... not a little bit, but very heavy, clotty, painful every day. Went to a series of doctors who diagnosed: stress, perimenopause (true- and I'm 46 so it's ok), thyroid issues (just needed adjusted) and tried hormone treatment. No avail, and I was to the point of not being able to go anywhere without a change of clothing and had several unfortunate accidents. (And I'm a highschool teacher- imagine the awkwardness o.O ).
This morning feels like heaven so far~ I have high hopes that it will last :-D

I had the Novasure procedure and D&C accompanied by the Adiana permanent birth control procedure. I had them all done 6 days ago and have absolutely NO pain or cramping at all. Twenty four hours after the surgery, I was up and shopping. (although i did use one of the electric carts as not to strain to much) I just wanted to put a post on here that was as positive and encouraging as my procedure was. I read alot of blogs and alot of research before having this done and over half of it was negative. I finally got to a blog that was written by a very honest and forthright OBGYN. She said that just as each person is an individual, each persons body will respond different to every procedure. You also have to remember most people that are asking and responding to blogs about this topic are generally searching for answers due to having problems. In my extensive experience there are equal amount of women with great outcomes they just don't have any questions to post. :-D :-) I hope this helps at least one person with the confidence to make a well informed decision taking in to account the good and not only the bad.
I would recommend this procedure to anyone that was in my situation, with the pain and heavy bleeding that came each month. The whole procedure went great and I feel great, with the hope that I will be one of the 60% of women that don't have a period at all after the procedure.
PS - However, you have to remember that after this procedure you should not be planning to get pregnant. That is why my doctor recommended the Adiana permanent birth control procedure be done at the same time.

I had the procedure done on Tuesday. The first day I felt fine, had no cramping at all. On Wednesday I started to have
severe cramping, and on Thursday I started bleeding heavily. I went to my Dr, and he said this is not common, but it
does happen. He didnt seem too concerned. I am still having bad cramping, and still bleeding. Hopefully this will stop soon.

I had the NovaSure procedure done this last Wednesday (it is now Saturday) without going under ga. The doc allowed me to do it in office with just local anestetic and pain pills. This saved me from paying like $500.00 and while it was a bit painful it was worth saving the money for me. I guess some insurances will now allow for this though so check first if you want to go this route. I came home and had some cramping from my uterus shrinking back down because they do have to dialate you to get in the NovaSure device and a tv camera. The cramping lasted abou 3 hours. The pain meds also made me sick, so my hubby called back into the doctor and they prescribed me an anti-nausea med and that worked wonders for me. Once the cramping went away I slept for several hours and woke up feeling fine other than a little sleepy still. Next day I felt great, just a little bloated and my back hurt a bit but IBProfin took care of that and I haven't taken anything since. I have had light discharge and have only had to change my panty liner 1xday! The bit of pain I think will definantly be worth the proceedure. I am due for my period in about a week so Iam hopingfor a much lighter or none at all...we shall see!

i had the procedure a week ago. and i am wondering if i should call the doctor. im not really having pain in the area i should at the moment im having pain all through my lower back and it doesnt seem like anyone else has expierenced this. jsut wondering if this is anyone elses expierence.

I had the procedure June 2010 and still feel like I have to pee all the time. I do feel swollen or bloated in my stomach but not all the time. I do not get a period. Do you still feel like you have to pee all the time?

I just had this procedure three days ago. I had very little discharge or bleeding the day of or the day after. But now, I'm bleeding rather heavily. Especially if I exercise any at all. Exercise seems to induce it and then it doesn't stop until I go to bed. We'll see if it persists much longer. Stopping the bleeding was the reason I did this!!!

I am 43, perimenopausal for 6 years now, and have suffered from heavy bleeding since my periods started at age 10. The last straw was in March when I had to leave my dads retirement party because I bleed through my jeans in 2 hours. My PCP put me on progesterone and referred me to gyno. Her first advice was hysterectomy. I could not be out of work that long. She then told me about ablation, I agreed.
I had my ablation 4/12/12 and have had 0
problems so far. I am now down to a daily liner during the day only. So far I am very pleased! Still waiting for a period!

I AM 42 YRS OLD HAD THIS PROCEDURE ON JUNE 8 2012 AND I HAVE BEEN HURTING SO BAD AND CRAMPING THE DR SAID THAT IT WOULD TAKE 3 MONTHS FOR THE BLEEDING TO STOP OR THEY WANT ME TO GO ON PILLS. I am 43 years old. I had a hesteroscope, d + c, and novasure ablation done yesterday...Tues Oct 9 2012. I was felling pretty good yesterday except for some residue from the anesthesia. Had discharge but no real cramping....just feel like something was done down there. But woke up next day -Wednesday and found myself sore...not crampy just sore - around the top area of my abdominal area-trouble coughing and sneezing. I had my right ovaries and tube removed last year (the whole cutting surgery)...and I had this. Since this was less evasive surgery I thought I'd not feel this. I got a letter for work for bedrest from Tues til my week starts sunday at 11p...really hoping this is gone by then. I work in a factory pretty much on my feet all night and lift heavy containers. I'm okay once I'm lying down, or standing up, or sitting down...it's the getting in that position is the trouble. It hurts...I'm gonna start taking tylenol more often and get ahead of it.

I am 46 years old and had novasure ablation, D&C and tubes tied on Oct 26th, 2012. Honestly the first couple of days was ok, but since the past two weeks I am having extreme exhaustion and fatigue. My discharge has been minimal, but fatigue is the major issue for me. It has been helpful reading the posts, but any feedback on extreme fatigue will be helpful.
