I just had a thermal ablation 1 week ago and I'm having a horrible time my vagina is red, swollen, and itching so bad..I'm having what looks like tissue or skin coming out every time I wipe.I had mild cramping and no bleeding..I called my doctor and she said it sounds like I'm having an allergic reaction but didn't wanna see me in the office.and now I have hemorrhoids which I've never had.. It seems like more damage was done with the ablation then what was going on with my periods to begin with.. It looks like they burned my skin on the outside of my vagina too..I'm going in tomorrow and sitting until someone sees me I can't take this anymore it's getting bumpy and spreading to my rectum

I had the Novasure endometrial ablation done in 2007 along with tubal sterilization and D & C for fibroid tumors. After the surgery I have what I call "pantyliner periods" very lite. The spotting during periods last about 2 to 3 days with no pain. The pain however has returned about a year ago. Mild cramping at first then severe. I recently found out the fibroids has also returned. However, the scar tissue from the ablation traps the blood in the now lasered lining and causes PAIN X 10! It feels like contractions only to produce spotting to no bleeding at all. My ultrasound showed a fluid filled sac of trapped blood because of the ablation. I researched and found that 40% of women who have the ablation done before the age of 40yrs. old are likely to need a hysterectomy within an 8 year period. Here I am at 8 years from surgery and unfortunately facing the dreaded decision of a hysterectomy. I am done having my beautiful babies but my dread comes from the side effects I may endure by having the hysterectomy. I plan to leave my ovaries and fallopian tubes, and cervix in place but there are still side effects like the possibility of not being able to experience the flow of powerful love rivers after a good loving session (putting it mildly) ; ) I have tried herbal remedies including no dairy. I also took prescribed progesterone. Wish me the Best on this Hysterectomy decision & Good Luck to You Ladies!

I had the surgery in an hospital outpatient office. I had novasure microwave ablasion & d&c. I had it done during my period bc they couldn't schedule around it. I had iv anesthesia. They wheeled me in to the OR, once in the table the anesthesiologist said she was starting anesthesia, put a mask in me and the next thing I remember was waking up in recovery, slightly crampy but ok. I left with my ride shortly after. I got naseau from the anesthesia once home, threw up, slept 4 hrs threw up again. Ate some veggies for dinner and was fine. That was a Fri, I controlled cramping with ibprofen over the counter. The next day I shopped at the mall, cooked hubby a bday dinner and attended a ball game. I have some light bleeding, still using a thin pad, been 6 days. I was getting my period for up to 25 days in a month so am hoping this helps.

My procedure was yesterday and my situation mirrors yours almost to a "T". I am 52. I too took two days off. Just sat around today. I have very minimal cramping, not really even cramping just a heavy feeling down there. I'm hoping that I will be one of the few that doesn't ever have a period again! Fingers crossed!

I'm having this exact same procedure in a month. I'm not having too much anxiety about it bc I'm looking forward to NO more cycles. I've been told that after said procedure your tummy will likely go down. Because I look like I'm about 5 months preggy I'm absolutely praying it does. Did you experience such?

I had my procedure, hystereoscope, d&c and Novasure ablation, with IUD removal yesterday, August 4th, 2017. I hurt like hell and had to take the rx pain meds, which have helped. Hurting a lot still today, but no real discharge so far today. I do notice that i seem to be leaking urine a bit. Hopefully my body is just irritated from being pried open so they could do all of this. I do have moments of fierce itching.

I was told no insertions, bath, or pools for 10 days by my Dr pre surgery. Then I was told 2 weeks after my surgery, the product website say 6 weeks. I'm doing what my body says is okay. I figure my Dr is an id**t anyway since they have no clue what they really mean. Most likely it is safe after 3 days like Johns Hopkins University states in their information. I'm very much into sex and refuse to give it up. I made myself orgasm last night and was finally able to sleep after I relaxed from it.

I'll update in a few weeks to let everyone know how it's going.

I just had a hysteroscopy, D&C and ablation done yesterday. Started having some cramps while still at hospital but on my way home I started having severe cramping in my back, stomach and legs. I got home took pain meds, laid in bed with heating pad on my stomach and finally some of the cramps subsided and was able to get some much needed rest. Still having some light cramping today but nothing like yesterday, haven't had any discharge whatsoever. I sure hope and pray this works, I had my tubes tied back in 2005 after my son was born and that's when I started having heavy periods almost every month. I had a couple of polyps removed last year hoping and praying that this procedure works.
