so are all these posting sites for people to complain about their symptoms and not one doctor has any advice or remedy? Will antibiotics work on a recurring illness like this or not? Same cold symptoms returned that I had two weeks ago but worse! This time I'm going to take more vitamin C and D and Cold FX. any tips please????? my nose is running like a faucet!! lol
I did vitamine C and Zinc... Also cold and flu meds but it kept coming back. The doc gave me tamiflu today. I hope it works.
I'm 70 years old and have had flu like symptoms for 4 weeks, achy body, sore throat, headache chills, nausea and chills. Should I consult a doctor?
Yes - I live in NC and also have had multiple colds/sinus/flu like issues that have left me utterly bewildered because I do not have a history of yearly colds and such. I'm 55 and until recently rarely got a cold. Have one now (3rd since Nov). I've always been one to eat healthy and take natural remedies if anything pops up. I sure don't want to go to doc to get and antibiotic but I am also feeling rather desperate!
I have similar and it reoccurs, dry cough mainly at night, runny nose, sneezing a lot, mild Head aches ..lethargy mornings mostly ...I have wondered whether to get a heavy metal blood test as we are being aerial sprayed non stop and I have heard that there are toxins being sprayed ..
Glad I am not the only one - I was starting to get worried! I am a teacher. In January I got a severe head cold causing stuffy nose and ears, sore throat, body aches but not a high fever. It went away but not totally. Got it again in March and went to the Dr. - got an antibiotic in a week it went away but not totally. Now in early June it is back again! The crazy cold winter did not help and I think I am run down from work.
I work at a preschool and I will agree with you - I have stopped going to the doctors as the antibiotics don't help and it just keeps coming back. This last time it was laryngitis which was the worst one of all and it happened in June, so I just get confused. 2 months off I'm hoping will get rid of it completely and I will stop coughing up the balls of mucous that accumulate in the back of my throat ALL the time, I as well have heart issues so I don't know how much is linked to that condition which is getting fixed 3 days after preschool commences.
Good luck to you and yes, it is nice to know we are not the only ones! Good luck to you
Here in California, I have had this cold relapse on me 5 times in the last 4 months. I feel OK for a few days-a week and then it starts up again. I did see me MD and we thought perhaps I had gotten a secondary bacterial infxn so I did a run of augmentin. It got rid of the green color but not the cold itself. My little guy had a similar run but it looks like he's finally kicked it. My mom has had the same thing. Four months is a REALLY long time to be sick. I'll call me MD again but I'm not sure there's anything to be done. What is this?
This thread seems to be a year old?
Well I just moved back to the US this January after being abroad several years - and it seems after an initial cold outbreak - after the initial re-covery - about once a week - i'm over-run with fatigue and cold symptoms then I'm fine then it comes back after 10 days or so....
Same problem with me. It's completely irritating! Since the New Year I've been sick five times! All what essentially seem to just be a cold, but usually symptoms are slightly different each go-around. Like last time my nose was the main issue (but still had other cold symptoms), this time my name issue is headache/fatigue/exhaustion (but again still with all the other cold symptoms)! I'm completely annoyed and no matter what I do I cant seem to beat it for good.
This is the third time since I started work on January 6 2015. I have heard all kinds of explanations from the people that sit around me from viral sinus infection to pneumonia. I get sore throat (it feels like glass shards) which is probably resulting from the coughing attacks all nite. I will cough until I vomit. I have severe headache and fever that lasts two days. I take tylenol advil pm nyquil flu and about 6 grams of vitamin C a day. The fever breaks but the congestion and coughing up vast amounts of yellow mucous and hoarseness and chest congestion keeps on going. My son is on his third un of this too. Eventually this breaks goes away for a month and comes back. I believe there is a natural immunity but I am not developing an immunity to this.
