Same thing in Pennsylvania got it in May and never went away totally. Starts with sore throat, post nasal drip, earache and then progresses to irritating, non-productive cough that goes on forever and makes you gag. A few weeks pass and you think you're clear and the symptoms start over the same way. Taking megadoses of vitamin c and raw garlic seems to help. I believe this virus was manufactured in a lab, never have experienced anything like it. Others experiencing same.

I've been sick with a head cold (bad ones) 5 different occasions in 3 months. I am literally 'well' for 1 or 2 weeks then it's back!! I can not believe it. I eat well, exercise regularly when i can and keep warm. It's a joke each time I'm sick everyone just rolls their eyes!! I've also had two stomach bugs in this time. 2 bugs and 5 head colds (2 of whch I was completely bed ridden). Someone kill me now.

Hi I get flu 3 times every winter lasting 10 to 14 days, aches and pains head to toe, fevers headaches, I'm also self employed and this also puts financial strain on me,and to top it of my friends and family don't believe me,just because they only get flu once in a blue moon they think I'm a hypercondriac,it really upsets me

It would seem a common problem. Try visitinf enterovirus foundation. They say its a strain of virus , flu like symproms, rirwdness etc, that can stay in the system for ages. Worse in children and families. Sound familiar.... :-)

Sometimes your body can get run down like this when your thyroid is working overtime to produce appropriate hormone levels. make sure you are eating foods with enough iodine, selenium and B12.

I just had flu-like symptoms that came and went within a 12-hour period (temperature and join aches) with the temperature subsiding and leaving only sinus/cold symptoms. But then suddenly after coming home from work and having dinner, I got the chills again and my temperature shot up to 102 degrees. Now 13 hours later I feel normal again except for some congestion. I've heard the term "24 hour flu" before but I'm starting to think this isn't the "flu" at all, but something that simply shares symptoms of it like a bacteria contaminating a food or drink item (e.g. my refrigerator filter light just went to "change now" the past two days; I changed it this morning). I had leftovers last night for dinner from the night before (pork/sauerkraut/potatoes) so there were food items in common as well, but I've not had typical food contamination type symptoms (no upset stomach, no diarrhea, etc.) mostly just sinus congestion and the body temperature increase with associated joint/muscle aches, but then I'm not familiar with every type of bacteria or virus symptom out there that may mimic flu-like symptoms.

I don't recall ever (in over 40 years) having gotten these types of symptoms, having it go away for over 12 hours and then coming back again for another 12 hours and then going away again in such a short period of time. I've had cold symptoms persist after flu-like symptoms for a day or two but never had the temperature go away and come back like that. I could see a bacteria infection behaving like that if you got another dose of it somehow, but viruses trigger anti-bodies and those typically keep virus-based illnesses like the flu or a given cold virus strain away for years or even a lifetime in some cases, which is why I suspect something other than a flu virus. I don't think the "real" flu only lasts 12 hours either, but various food contamination bacteria can behave like the flu and go away in a short period of time like that. Hopefully, between getting rid of the food I had in the past two days and changing the water filter will eliminate the source of the problem.

All these posts seem like a year ago, but I am suffering from these same symptoms: multiple bouts of cold and flu over the course of three months. I remember it started out with a nasty chest infection where it hurt to breath . It was mostly dry coughs so I had ruled out pneumonia. I'm sick of being sick, and I never go to the doctor. I've never had to take extra vitamins, and always fight colds within a week. I am very active and healthy usually. I'm wondering if smoking cigarettes could do all this as I've been smoking for about 8 months now and work outside all day. Previously for the last 4 years I was working inside all day. Maybe my body is having a hard time adjusting.

I'm seriously starting to wonder what's wrong with me. I have had this flu-like virus since about the 22nd of December. I have had three flare ups, the symptoms dissipate for while accept from the runny nose but then all come back again and last for ages. I get bad fatigue, feeling ill, swollen lymph nodes in my groin and stomach (confirmed by GP), abdominal pains, and feeling feverish but whenever I check my temperature it's usually only around 36.3 Celsius and 37.0 at the highest, which isn't a fever at all. At one point I began breaking out in hives.

I have seen my GP, he says he thinks I just contracted another virus but I find it hard to believe I have caught three different flu viruses in the space of 7 weeks, and also this whole time I have had a constant runny nose which shows the first virus never went away to begin with. I have been tested for HIV, glandular fever/mono, bacterial infections, allergies etc. and they found nothing wrong with me. I'm suspecting I have the enterovirus as apparently that can last for ages and can even cause chronic infection. At this point I'm just fed up and sick of waiting to get better.

So early January of 2017 I got a bad flu. That last 2 weeks. Severe pain and chills and fever and headaches. It went away than 1 week later I caught gasiritaus and the flu again. That last 10 to 12 days again. So I went out last night had some beers and smoked some Weed. I woke up today with an even worse flu from the other 2 times. So basically I've had the flu for almost 2 months. I feel like I am dieing. I don't ever get sick like this and doesn't last. I am 34 year old man. Tonight I took 4 cold fx and 4 1000mg of vitamin c... what could be wrong with me.
