Hi I was just wonding if anyone could help me out. I have been getting cysts on my genitals (I'm a girl) that grow for 1-2 weeks until about the size of a quarter and then burst. My doctor said that is was normal the first time, the second time I didn't go in, and now I have a third one. Also, I have had lower stomach pain, back pain, diarrhea , and nausea lately that may be connected. If anyone can help that would be great! Thanks A lot.
I also have that same problem. I have been going through this for about 5 years now. Kept going from Dr to Dr. I have been on so many different antibitotics, pain medicine, warm wash pads, sitz baths. I did every thing that I was told to do. Finally, in the past 2 months,I found out that it was my Sebaceaus (i think I spelled it correctly) gllands. I had to have surgery because of it. I had 3 on my right side, groin area, 2 on my left groin area and 1 on the top of where my pubic hair meets my stomach. My surgeon and I thought that it would take care of it. I had the surgery 3 months ago, and had to go to Physical Therapy, wound care every day for the first week, then every other day for 2 more weeks. The healed nicely, but now I have some pretty ugly scars. I use cocoa butter on it. I have to have 2 more removed on Wednesday. We are hoping that this will be the end of it. There is no cure for it. In the words of my doctor, it's like diabetes, it's not contagious, there is no cure, but surgery has alleviated the pain. Good luck to you, and I hope that you get the care that you need. Have your doctor, or GYN (thats who sent me) to a surgeon. They know what they are dealing with, and how to help you get through it. Also ask your GYN for immune building vitamins. They help some, and the outbreaks are farther apart. So, let them know that you have cysts that need to be removed. Hoped this helped you out some. If you need more info, you can email me at _[removed]_. I would be more than happy to talk with you about it. At least you know now that you are not alone, like I was.

I've been getting them near the labia for years. They grow larger then smaller, etc. One Ob-GYN told me it was just a "sebaceaus cyst" and it will go away. Well, guess what? It hasn't gone away. This time it is larger and I went to another GYN. He told me warm compresses and a hot bath. Yes, it helped diminish the size, but it is 2 weeks later and it is growing again. I've had them on my face and would go to a dermatologist and he would inject it with cortisone and, puff, it was gone. Why hasn't the GYN done the same? My dermatologist never said to go home and soak it with hot compresses?

I also have had the same problem near my labia. My OBGYN removed it in surgery. But 8 months later it is back. Now I am having to go see him AGAIN.

its jus like a hair bump but worst, dont wear tight drawls and be careful of how you shave , all that stuff can irritate the hair follicles and cause the cyst , also try to use some type of body scrub or facial scrub down there (be sure not to get none in the vagina or nothn) to unclog your skin....treat it like you do pimples , thats basically all it is except 20 times bigger lol...your okay i get them alllllllllllllllll the time and i hate it -____- , also try to use warm compresses when all other alternatives dont work and you end up getn one anyway

I too have chronic sabaceous cysts on my groin. As in inner thigh, pubic hair, and vulva. I have been told I will get them the rest of my life. I am so glad I am not alone. I have been told to NOT shave. I can wax or use the nair type stuff and laser hair removal if I could ever afford it. I have also been told after I get out of the shower and in the morning and maybe when I get off work to wipe the area with witch hazel but stay away from the clitoris and and any openings. Also lancing and surgery is the only the only relief from the pain and it does leave some nasty scars. Epsom salt baths are good as well as heat. Do not attemp to pop or you may get Mrsa as I did. Good luck ladies.

Is there a chance that they are hormonal related? I've been getting the, around the time of period for almost 5 months in a row now. I'm on the nexplanon birth control, maybe it causes a spike in hormone related cysts?

Mine are from Dairy. When I go without Diary for a few weeks they all go away. But I love milk so I keep getting them back. I worked for a NP once who gave me a script for Keflex and I didn't get them for about 2 years. Good luck everyone.

I'm 50 now and I suffered with sebaceous cysts for the first 35 years of my life.  My gynecologist said she couldn't do anything but remove them if they were bad enough. It was very painful at times because they could get pretty big and I always had at least one. They left scars, too. About 15 years ago a doctor prescribed me an antibiotic called Zithromax for a respiratory infection. In addition to clearing my respiratory infection it made my sebaceous cysts clear up. They came back just a tiny bit for a couple of years so I told my family doctor what it did and ask for another course of them. I did that a couple of times. It has been completely cleared up ever since. The problem must be hereditary because my daughter now has it. She's mortified but I'm going to need to take her to the doctor to try to get them to treat her the same way that helped me. Hopefully it will work for her also and she won't have to suffer with it as long as I did. This treatment that worked for me was discovered completely by chance and is not a known treatment for chronic sebaceous cysts as far as I know.

So glad I’m not alone. It truly affects your daily life when you get a bad one. Sometimes I feel like I’m all alone. It’s too embarrassing to share with family why I’m not feeling up to regular tasks sometimes. I hate it.
I have been using clinical strength deodorant and anytime I wear a different brand or non clinical strength, I get the worst cyst ever. I definitely think they are hormone related as I also get them really bad around my period. Either my period or if I use a different deodorant. :(

No your really not alone. I have been getting these for the past 4/5 years! I have been told it maybe from diet, so I changed what we ate. Then it was, because you sweat but I've always showered regularly. I've had antibiotics and it will clear them for a few weeks. Then I get more! I've asked to be referred to see someone who knows what they are on about. But nothing has happened yet. It really is embarrassing when I tell my husband that I have got more of them. I have even tried shaving everything off and allowing all the hair to grow back but it still makes no difference! I really am at my wits end with it all. Let's face it, 1. They are painful, 2. They are bloody ugly, 3. Embarrassing, especially when you know that you have done everything that you were told to do..
