about 2 weeks ago i got 5 red bumps in the pubic area just randomly around the "area" but im just a little worried there not pimples cause they don't have heads but a few are blackish have a black tint to them but anyway im guessing an ingrown hair or an infection of some kind oh and im 17 (just turned 17) if that matters
Yeap, it sounds like ingrown hair to me, the hair curls back or grows sideways into the skin. Anything which causes the hair to be broken off short with a sharp tip can cause ingrown hair. Shaving is the leading cause, followed by waxing and tight clothing. Sometimes an ingrown hair occurs without external intervention, when the pore is blocked for various reasons, as is the case in keratosis pilaris, and the hair is forced to grow sideways. They can be removed with tweezers. There are many of different products that prevent or cure ingrown hairs. Some based on alcohol, others are alcohol free. Alcohol free products are the better choice, because alcohol causes skin irritation.
