Hi, I have a problem with my baby son. He is 11 months old, and I think it is time to retract his foreskin because of the hygiene. However, it’s not working. What should I do?
If it doesn’t work, don’t force it! You could easily hurt your son if you try to retract his foreskin by force. It’s no wonder that it’s not working when he’s just a baby. Only a few babies can have their foreskin retracted in the first year of life. It usually separates by itself in couple of years, and sometimes it takes even more time. Wash your son’s genitals with some gentle baby soap and warm water, and that’s all you have to do. If any problem with urinating appears, you should talk to pediatrician before you decide to do anything on your own. Penis in infants doesn’t need a special care, so don’t worry about it any more.
His foreskin is NOT supposed to retract. Don't do anything. Just wash the outside like washing a finger.
That is not correct.
