I’ve done lots of exams since I was diagnosed with RVOT. Medications, exercise tests, everything they wanted me to do. Most probably surgery is next thing. What surgery technique of the RVOT is consisting of?
I am sorry that you have to pass through all those exercise test and medications. Recent techniques and strategies for correction of cardiac anomalies of the RVOT include surgical repair and replacement of the pulmonary valve. These techniques include implantation of bioprosthetic conduits which can consist of woven polyester tubes. The tubes are used as supportive housing for glutaraldehyde-fixed porcine or bovine pericardial valves. Some surgeons prefer to implant a non-valved conduit or homograft, some to perform a valvuloplasty, there by establishing a connection between systemic arteries and the pulmonary artery.
