I have stones in my saliva gland.. I am awaiting results of a CT scan, although extremely painful for past 2 months with 2 previous infections in the gland, I cam upon something in the web that the stones in the gland can be removed by a type of ultra sound like what happens when breaking up a kidney stone. Can this be done? I asked the Dr and he said that he doesnt know of any hospital locally that can do it, he is opting for surgery to take the whole stone out.. but he said it is a big operation and is the last resort. Can any one give me any information or a site to look into this further, so I can say it to the Dr before I meet him.
