I have sebaceous prominence. I am very embarrassed about it .What is a treatment for it?
It is really ugly and I want to make it disappear. Is this possible?
Sebaceous prominence is normal and something that all men have to a greater or lesser degree. There is no treatment and you should leave them alone. You should visit the clinic if you have discharge from the end of your penis or experience pain passing urine.
If you notice new spots and lump developing, or sore areas on you penis also visit a clinic. You can’t make Sebaceous Prominence disappear.
As far as I know Sebaceous Prominance is caused by blocked pores on the penis, which is a result from an over-active Sebaceous gland (the galnd that produces oil that makes the skin softer). It seems as though its triggered at puberty... around the same most of us develop spots elsewhere on our body. Try using some talc powder, it absorbs any moisture thus preventing clogged pores. Im not that sure, but it seems to be working.

I've had SP since i was a freshman in HS, I'm a junior in college now, and i'm embarassed with this sh*t everyday. I've never let it stop me from getting with girls and not one has ever noticed thank god, but its mostly on my scrotum which they aren't really paying as close attention to. Even a gf of 3 years never noticed which was amazing. I've tried clearisal and it seems to make them smaller but not a cure, hell i've even stuck a needle in one and sort of cut it open to try and get rid of them, but that just left a scab and made it appear more noticable. I wouldn't reccomend that scissor trick, even if you get rid of it it leaves a scabs and sometimes grows right back. This stuff sucks but i found if you keep it clean down there, don't mess around with them, and use some type of acne cream it will reduce the size at least and make it less noticable.
Hey am 15 and i had these little bumps on my penis for like a year and i want to get rid of them so do you still see them clearing up becaused id like to buy these product where can i find?
Hey am 15 and i have these lttle bumps on my penis and i ve had it for over a year and i want your advise is the product that you are putting on your penis working please quote back
I'm 17 and ive had SB since i was 11, it really freake dme otu at firsta nd i thoguht i ah d genital warts or testicular cancer or something. After allot of research and a doctors visit i found out its normal and that everyone ahs it is just much mroe noticeable in others. Ive even tried the scissors/needle thing and trust em that does NOT work and your stupid if you try it, it will just cause infection. Acne cream does clear it up and it is improtant to keep your genitals clean, they seem to act allot like acne or zits except that I would not advise trying to pop them as they are actally the glands swollen not pimples. If they clear up it is because the glands are becomign less swollen not becasue it is cured so if you find a treatment that cleasr them up then dont stop if they begin to decrease because theyw ill coem back.
I have them as well and all the girls i've been with haven't noticed them. and if they have it didn't stop them from giving oral. I wouldn't worry to much about them if the look is all you're concerned about.
I've tried so many treatments to get rid of the disgusting looking things and I've finally found one that semms to be clearing them. I wasn't expecting any change but I've just noticed that they are definitely clearing up!! im so happy! The stuff is called OXY 10, I got it from ebay from hong kong, look it up and hopefully it'll clear them up for you as well!
It seems like we're all 15 but i read more and it seems normal enoth, don't think there's a cure though...

I've done the same thing myself.. i used very fine scissors in the past.. sterilized with a hot flame and alcohol of course. And was done with very little pain if any at all.
It really isn't that painful at all, just pinched off the area with my fingernails, lightly scraped away the top layer of skin to minimize scaring, then cut it out from the root since they are not (very) free-floating. Very little bleeding if you do it with surgeon's precision.
It's not about being tough, a sicko or even a wuss.. some people just have different limits to pain than others.
I found a cure for Sebaceous Prominence crude though it is. For major obvious bumps, they can be cut out with a sharp pair of scissors. Have something to stem the bleeding once finished and then a plaster but in a few days it is fine and Sebaceous Prominence free!

if you want to remove the larger sebaceous glands i no a way not sure if it works on the smallers ones havnt tried yet...but you need to get nail clippers smallish ones are best,....... pinch next to the large gland with two fingers ......next snip the gland with the clippers (this will hurt abit but dont be a p***y the pain only lasts about 5 seconds for me it was well worth it) and make sure its snipped off .......then u will see a small hole where the gland was with like a cyst in the middle (it will bleed)...next stretch the skin so that the cyst is sticking out abit above the skin....use the clippers again to grab a hold of the cyst try not to get any skin around it else it will hurt more.....then squeeze the clippers tight and pull it wont hurt but the cyst will pull away, it will bleed so put some tcp ointment on and then some germolene new skin to help prevent scaring...and thats it...obviously the more you do the quicker and easier it becomes..they will take time and patients...im 18 and finally reached my limit and had to do something just wish i had started 3 yrs earleir! let me know how u get onx
whats the treatment dosage like for this OXY 10? Have the bumps totally dissapeared?
Hey people ive got sebaceous prominence and ive spent alot of time learning all about how the skin works, where these come from etc... basically sebaceouse prominence is the build up of keratin (stuff hair is made from and finger nails etc) thats why they are hard cysts. This generally occurs through puberty due to blocked pores and therefore a buildup occurs and this results in the sebaceous prominence. now they can be removed through 'physical removal' although i would not advise this as problems can occur and it is not always very easy. Ways i would suggest is to increase the activity of the active enzyme which breaks down keratin...as skin developes it goes through stages until it reaches the skin u see on the outer part of your body. At one of these stage keratin becomes complex (mixes, bonds) with fillagrin, and enzyme then comes along and breaks this down to act as the bodies natural moisturiser...if your skin is constantly hydrated then the process is very slow and no kerating will be broken down and therefore your going to be saying hello to the good old SP for a while longer. The reason OXY10 works is because the active ingrediant Benzoyl peroxide actaully sheds your skin sort of like a chemical peel and therefore increases the speed of the skin producing, cycle therefore enzymes work faster and break more keratin down... it also drys out the skin (as im sure those of you who have ever used a normal bar of soap have experienced the dry skin feeling if you do not moisturise) well basically this dehydrates the skin therefore increase the enzyme activity in order to produce more 'natural' moisturiser. Oxy10 is availiable as Oxy5 and Oxy on the spot. basically the 10 means 10% Benzoyl peroxide and so 5 means 5%, on the spot is 2.5%...although do not worry if you can only get hold of on the spot which i am currently using as it works just as well as oxy10 as the 10 version only produces a more severe chemical peel in a sense, and this isnt neccesarily good... i would suggest 'on the spot' as you can always apply more although stick to the dosage and what you feel dosent blister etc...im currently trialing this method and i hope to see results although i would only expect to see results of dissapearing SP after at least 2 weeks of application.
