Hello, I'm a 29 year old female and recently I was masturbating and after had severe neck pain just at the base of my skull. I've been doing this since I was 14 and never had this problem, however, this time was definitely a stronger orgasm. I have chronic back pain, neuropathy, and fibromyalgia. I had taken my Lyrica about 3 hours prior, and my pain killers about an hour before. I've read about orgasm headaches, but I've read it's more common in men. I've also read that the solution is to take ibuprofen before, but I can't take NSAIDs because of a kidney disorder. I can take Tylenol, but I had taken one with my pain killer (it doesn't have acetomenophin in it) just an hour before. It's been 8 hours, and another dose of both pain killer and Tylenol, and it's not going away. Again, this has NEVER happened before. I was laying down like I always do, not sitting up or in another weird position that could cause this. Should I be concerned? What else could it be, or what else can I do to make this pain go away? It's not so much a headache, just a burning/throbbing pain in my neck below my skull. I used to get migraines a lot and it doesn't feel like that.
I too have neuropathy and fibromyalgia and also take Lyrica. I have had a strange pain at the base of my neck after an orgasm....but also at a few other times....there is no consistency, it lasts only a few seconds, at most a minute, and there is no other side affect.
i am sorry that i offer no solution but i thought it might help to know of someone else who suffers the same thing...but survives it w/o any lasting effects.
