I realize this comment is from a year ago, but you might have a gluten allergy .

I have had the same issue for a few years now. In the beginning I thought it might be food poisoning because it would most frequently happen a few hours after eating. I would force myself to throw up believing that was the issue and the pain would instantly go away. I know it's an unorthodox remedy but it has worked for me for the past few years. Hope this helps

I'm literally in the hospital right now from an episode that had me in tears and unable to move. They did a CT scan and ruled out gallbladder or appendix. They're sending me home with a referral for a GI specialist and laxitives. They said the CT scan showed extreme constipation but they agree that's not normal and there may be something wrong there. So. Hooray.

I've also had a sigmoidoscopy in the past and was told everything looked fine. It just feels like we're sunk, guys.

I have this problem. The pain wakes me up out of a dead sleep ,and usually last 12-24hours. Ive done to my doctor multiple times(Never the same day though, due to the pain I cannot walk very far,and riding in a car would be awful)It usually happens every 3-4 months. Pain meds never help me,All I do is keep a ice pack against my stomach, and prey Ill make it though in with out killing myself

After reading every post here I've decided on 2 things, appendix or gallbladder dysfunction. Since your appendix is out have you tried checking your gallbladder? I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND A SWIFT CURE!

Hey All, I have been searching for this topic online for years. Wow here it is. I am very sad to say that I'm not alone in this because I wouldn't wish this on anyone EVER! So I'm sorry to read that your all going through this life changing heartache. My story is like most of your with some differences,  I'm hoping to connect with someone going through the same symptoms as I. I got my first attach when I was 7 yrold. I remember because it was VERY painful and was the first day of first grade. So my family chalked it up to nervous stomach. But then it happened again 1 yr later!? It continued to  reoccur atleast once a year(sometimes twice a yr) for the passed 35ish yrs. I'm now in my 40's and after doing every test in the book, and every diagnosis from -all in my head, to -bile duct blockage to -FMF(f. Familial Medi. Fever) plus going gluten free for the past yr and quiting drinking completely for 8 yrs now, and I still have this Debilitating undiagnosed chronic issue. I'm desperate for this to be over. I don't care if you've endured these attaches once in your teens or every day for the last 100 yrs. If you been through this scary, extremely painful, lonely, abandoned, looked at like an m***n by Dr's, spent thousands and thousands only to find out your an id**t and must be making this up because "I'm a GOD, an if I can't find the problem there must not be one!" I can go on and on. Point is, its a very hard thing to go through/deal with. And if your one of us then I pray you find REAL help soon. I also want to thank everyone for the advice you all wrote. Gave me some great ideas(since I've been diagnosing myself these days) not totally, I still see Dr's and I promise, if I do find out anything I will let you all know right away. OH the attacks come on very suddenly. One minute I'm fine the next I'm in a 15 out of 1-10 pain, the pain is very much like contractions, its constant but in waves it'll start a low dull pain then wave to the peak of holy s*$t pain then back to dull(that's one spasm as I call it) that 1 spasm will last in total from start to finish about 5-10 minutes. Dull, holy creeps, dull, holy creeps, dull over and over non stop for 16-18 hours at least once a yr. Sometimes twice a yr but not often. Then its gone like nothing ever happened! Except lately (getting older 43 now) it has been hurting for 4-5 days after the attack. Like I'm recovering from a surgery or injury. Its just an ache feeling, someone called it "jelly belly"(I like that) about sums it up. I'm sorry for the long post and the spelling but I've been up all night in pain.

I REALLY DO HOPE ALL OF YOU SUFFERING WITH ANY FORM OF THIS CONDITION FIND YOUR MUCH NEEDED HELP AND COMPASSION QUICKLY. MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU!!!
