Same thing happened to me while driving , My doctor has had a stress test ,eeg ,ct scan of my brain, urine sample and blood work. They have found nothing. My family doctor said that I had a Vagovagal reflex ,And that is why I passed out.I hope this helps.
Just happened to me this morning, but luckily I didn't faint. I drank a swallow of cherry coke zero to wash down my morning pills and felt a sudden stabbing pain in my chest and stomach. It was over within a minute. I assumed it must have just been gas, but I couldn't make myself burp to relieve it. The pain just passed. However, it was sever enough to have me googling, and I found this site.
My daughter had this happen last night. Took a drink of dr pepper and then the next minute she's on the ground...she threw up and then was complaining of stomache pain
This just happened to me last evening. I'm out to dinner with family and friends, the waitress sets down a Diet Coke. I took a desent sized sip, not quite a gulp, through a straw. Only slighly more eager than a sip. I felt it go down the pipe as if it was a rock, and I felt a compression in my chest. I remember thinking, "this is painful", then I fainted. My daughter, who is a paramedic, was luckly at my side and discovered me out cold, with my eyes open. They said I was out for 20 seconds or so. She took my pulse and it was 115 beats per minute. I felt a little nausiated for a while, but then I felt fine later. But like all the others on this site, concerned enough to look for answers on the internet. I am perplexed!
Hi, I have recently had continuous stomach pain and often I have chest pains.
Yesterday, I fainted in my kitchen while making food and I have no history of fainting, but when i fainted I have frequent pains in my stomach. Also another symptom I've had was headaches for the last 3 weeks every day and sometimes they are soooo bad that I have to sleep to take away the pain. I'm 15 years old. My diet is regular and I have recently had "growing pains" in my legs as my parents call it, but I know it's restless leg syndrome ! I have never had these before and i've never fainted before. What's wrong with me! I've gone to the doctors and they gave me pills but the pills only worked until they were done and then I started getting kidney pains.

This did not happen to me but my girlfriend this afternoon.. it freaked me out we had been over at a friends house cooking out im not sure if it was from drinking a soda or not but she had just took a drink when she looked at me and told me that her stomache was hurting, i really didnt think to much of it she said she felt very hot and just fainted i was in shock... i picked her up put her on the couch turned a fan on her and seconds later she was fine this had never happened to her before but i have done alot of research on it today and really dont have a clue of what it could be.....she had also been in the sun all day if this helps
This just happened to me friday! I thought something was very wrong with me. But after reading here I feel a lot better. I was unfortunately driving at the time it happened to me and at a red light thankfully.
I drank a sip of warm sprite from a can. It went down wrong and hurt a lot. I tried to straighten up but then I passed out. My mother had to put the car in park and smack me in the face repeatedly until I woke up. I wasn't passed out too long she said. Then I had a cold forehead and was sweating. I also had severe nausea. The coldness and sweating passed in about 30 mins.. then the nausea didn't go away until 2 hours later! I am afraid to drink pop now. This has never ever happened to me before. I am 34 and a mother of a 1 year old.

When ever I drink even 1 sip of Dew from a can, I start getting shoulder pains =( Anyone know whats the cause of this!? It only happens with canned sodas..bottled drinks don't cause me any pains at all.
Could it be something like the metals in the can that cause this??

Something similar happens to me often. Usually when I drink Smirnoff wine coolers or Mt.Dew... but happens out of nowhere sometimes. I can be perfectly fine and then out of nowhere I get a metallic taste and weird sensation. It starts off mild and builds and builds. By the time I get that taste I already know that the pain is on it's way. It starts out in my stomach and becomes more and more painful and on to my chest. I feel like I can't breath, I sweat like crazy and get lightheaded. I usually have to curl up into a ball for about 10-15 minutes until the pain just dissapears as easily as it came. The first time it happened my friend got so freaked out that he almost called the ambulance. I thought maybe it was ulcers... I can't find anything on the internet that sounds even close to that. I wish I knew what it was so I could avoid it! Probably the worst pain I have ever felt!
it just happened to me
This happened to me yesterday. I took a drink of sparkling water, got a huge chest pain, and passed out. Because it was sparkling water, I think we can confirm the CO2 hypothesis and rule out the caffeine hypothesis. Also, I have a tendency to vaso-vagal reactions, and so I wonder if those of us who are vulnerable to them in general are also more vulnerable to this particular response to drinking carbonated beverages.
I don't know, but it was very scary and I hope it never happens again.

This happens to me frequently, though when I drink seltzer not soda (small difference that).
It has happened to me at a diner; fell off my stool and came to on the floor, quivering. That was the most intense episode. But there is a 'drug like' euphoria that immediately precedes the fainting. I'm split; part of me enjoys that and is willing to let it take over, the other part of me worries about passing out and, I can, if I concentrate quell the euphoria. Mind you, I don't always want to.
A physician, admittedly one who should have his license pulled, told me it was blood sugar. I was surprised he didn't want to bleed me to treat it!
It usually happens to me when I am eating. I sometimes worry about it, but, the truth to be told, this is not the worst of my problems. It is sort of frightenting, but I find that I now sort of look forward to it.

This happened to me last night but with beer. We had a chugging contest and everyone stopped midway because it was too cold. I saw a golden oppurtunity to win so I went with the pain but lol I passed out and it wasnt from being over intoxicated so I dont think that goes with Syncope because 10 seconds isnt enough time to cut oxygen from you're brain.
Ok, I'm really late to this post but all the comments helped me so maybe I can contribute too. Something similar happened to me yesterday morning. I got out of the shower and I was kind of hot so I went to get a drink of milk. I chugged straight from the carton and as I did I realized I had gulped kind of hard and then came severe chest pain that started at the top and spread through my chest but not much further. It hurt so bad so I went to lie down. As I approached the bed I started feeling light headed. I laid down and the pass out feeling got much more intense and the next thing I know, I'm looking around the room not sure where I am or if it's morning or night. Basically I was disoriented which has happened in the past when I passed out. Anyway, after about 15 min I was feeling better and went about my day. The only thing is ever since that happened I feel like there is a rock in my stomach and I am full all the time. I've had a few other pains too like one on my left side but nothing too severe. I just can't understand the full feeling and rock in the stomach. Has anyone else had that? Amanda
I have had similar events happen. But it occurs after medium to large caffeine intake, usually Dr. Pepper.
I get cramps that are really bad, then my intestines clear themselves out as if I took a laxative. Only it takes 2-5 hours as if it was diarrhea. Not pleasant. Usually am exhausted afterwards. Coffee I think can cause the same affect, but I have to drink more coffee than it takes for Dr. Pepper.
Just throwing it out there. Also only once, I threw up. And kept throwing up even when nothing was left. Other times simply nauseous.
