I had Bartholin's Gland removed 17 months ago, and I still can't have intercourse without pain. I was never told by my Dr. this could happen either. It has done a lot of emotional damage to me, I Thank God my husband is understanding and truly loves me. I feel guilty because I can't have sex with him anymore, Not like before anyway. We should have been told before surgery. If I could sue my Doctor I would.
well lastnight me and hubs had sex its only been a week ago i had batholin cyst and it did nt hurt what are u women talking about 4 - 8 weeks lol
he said it was more juicy than ever
2 weeks for what???
I very recently had my third Bartholins' Cyst operated on. Instead of a marsupialisation, this time around the whole cyst was removed. I experienced an extended period of bleeding (around an extra week) and pain (about 2 extra weeks).
During my follow up appointment with my gynae 3-weeks after surgery, I was recommended no exercise (that's ALL exercise bar light walking) and no sex for 3-months, minimum. My next follow-up appointment is in 3-4 months.
I trust my gynae's recommendations. Versus the previous doctors and hospitals I dealt with regarding these cysts, I've never felt misinformed.
Hi, I am 22 Years old. I got the Marsupalization Surgery a few years ago, then suddenly within this last month i have been having pain during and after intercourse. usually i suck it up or my boyfriends sake but lately the pain has been unbearable. i am scared to go to the doctors because i dont want to have another Sugery... has anyone else experience this type of long delyed pain?
Hi JM,
When I had my most recent (third round) surgery, they did a more extensive operation – the complete removal of the cyst. Following the operation I was informed that there was not just one but a whole bunch of cysts!
This isn't something the regular marsupialisation/drainage will turn up.
That aside, it's your body and you only have the one, so please be kind to it. I think having sex even though it was painful was a bad idea – this is a very sensitive area we're talking about, and it needs time to heal.
I would suggest going back to your gynae for a checkup and mentioning the removal operation.
Sex without cysts is amazing!
Best, P.
Here's my story: with in a week my cysts grew to about the size of an egg and was the most painful thing I have ever experienced!! I waited to get into the OB and they did the surgery and stiched me up. The doctor gave me no orders on what to do, how to take care of it or any additional information. I researched just about everything on my own. I'm only a week and a half out and my stiches are already coming out (not sure if that's normal) and I can still feel the cyst. Does that mean it's going to keep coming back? I haven't seem to have much pain down there although my bf is going crazy to have sex because it's almost been about 3 weeks for us. Hopefully when he comes home we can... and that it's not to soon to conceive.
