Okay See I Been shaveing for a couple years now and it okay you have to make sure your careful I have cut down there alot lol because i wasnt careful it ok if you cut your self it will hurt for a bit but nothing to bad. You willl be ok ;)

Okay, I myself have been doing this for around 5 years or more now. It depends really. Some guys do not like the whole "young girl image" as in being bare down there. Some guys like a girl to have some hair. But it is up you, don't just do it if are being pressure into doing so.
The method I use when I first started: Take it slow, don't rush. And be careful as it is easy to cut areas around the vagina. The first time you do it, it will feel weird. Honestly, It felt odd for me. After awhile you get used to doing it and it will only take around 1-2mins depending. Use a mirror if you can, just to see if you missed spots. Also if you have a stool or chair, you can put one of you legs on it and then shave, much easy to get to hard to reach places.
