Shooting pain behind Left eye, top of head

Hi there!! I have the same thing as you have.  Its like a lightning bolt pain coming from top of head down to the temple and left eye aches.  It is a terrible sharp pain.  I have had 2 sergerys for trigeminal neuralgia and last mri showed no tj but lots of sinus infection.  I have done every thing I can do for sinis and still have the damn pain!!! So its not tj or sinis problems-what is it????? Any help you can give me I would appreciate.  Thanks Loretta

i have had this constant pain, like a bruse behind my left eye for 2 months. migranes its awful i hurt all over all the time but this is wors, i had spinal fluid build up after my 2nd child and that was bad and this is almaost as bad. any info would be greatfuly appriciated!

I just started with stabbing left eye pain. I have suffered from migraines for years but this is not a migraine. When I look, not turn, in a certain direction the pain shoots to the back of my left eye to my head. I am a young 31 yr old female. Has anyone felt that this was neck related and not neuro related? Thanks for the help!

hi,i myself have ddd in discs 5 and 6.i have shooting pains down both shoulders,into right arm and stiffness of the elbow and wrist and fingers,arm goes numb sometimes and also shooting pains into the face,eye pain and top of the head, my teeth also suffer and i also suffer from muscle twitching both in my eyes and down the arm

Hello I thought I was the only one with this shooting I pain that runs in the same direction to the top of my head. Im scared when this happens because it is a terrible feeling, like a brain spasm is happening. When I get this feeling I have to close my eye really tight and hold the side of my nostril near the pain. The weird part about it some times it reacurs when I get drunk or occasionally smoked marijuana. Now I stopped smoking. But I think the reason this is happening is because I might have a deviated septum. I am going to my doctor, hopefully its just because of my deviated septum.

You knew it was stabbing pain before you went!:) so, what is the treatment? anything?

My eyelids have been swollen for 6 months and underneath also, Red, itchy, blurred vision. Pain in back of head severe one night and thought I was going to die. Now it is just pain in eyes, usually one or other. I have some lid retraction and stare and pressure and it is miserable!! Been told by doctors I have TED, thyroid eye disease. Sometimes I wonder if they know what they are talking about!!!

the same thing has happened to me only started today when i swallow my head and back of my left eye hurts its a shooting pain straight to my head.i went doctors today to be told its my jaw spasm (really) im goin back again tomorrow dont feel that is the problem.

Hi, I also have neck and shoulder pain and when i press my shoulder i get a sharp pain behind the eye, get giddy spells and slight swelling in my cheek and ache in corner of my jaw, my eye looks saggy at times and waters,i also have numbness in my lower right arm and fingers, i have recently had fullness in my ear after an infection from a swimming in a pool in Egypt, i have had it syringed and the nurse said its been going on a while, holiday was 16 months ago so on going you can say, i now have ringing in my ear and think its either inner or middle ear infection . i am now constantly trying to clear my throat from catahr and think its caused by the infection in my middle ear draining through a tube into my throat , like you i also get a sharp pain at times at the top of my forhead especially when i bite my teeth together. I also feel fatigued and my sinuses are congested . I had a blood test today though i cant wait for the result as i feel my symptons are getting worse, ill try and get refered tomorrow.I just need to know whats causing this, I hope you get answers soon Good Luck.  Dan.

I'm also experiencing the same pain. I'm currently in Middle east right now so I believe it has something to do wi the weather of 40-50 degree celsius. But that reason it not acceptable not until some laboratory tests shoud be made.

I'm 31 single and i don't know where to start the test.

Hi I just typed in Google to search for info on Adrenaline and the effects it has on the brain and this thread was my result I too have had these symptoms and cat scans and other tests that have come back ok then they said it was accute sinusitis to find that it was caused by my wisdom teiueth and stress in May this year a blood vessel burst in my left ear I felt like I was going to pass out I panicked in return my heart raced to extremely high bpm I have now been put on tablets as my body produces to much adrenaline which makes me feel like I'myt going to pass out it comes on suddenly with the pain behind my left eye.the amount of adrenaline has done damage to my brain the tablets stop the receptors and I have been diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder although I don't feel as tppphough I do suffer from these I've tested my self and stopped the tablets they were working and I crashed.I have been told I also have post traumatic stress disorder all because of my body producing to much adrenaline..which all started over trying to fight pain and pressures in my head all do to my wisdom teeth.I hope this has helped and its so good to know I'm not alone in this

Happy Firday and Labor Day - I have read all of these posts and yes I am in the same boat except I suffered a blow to the head about 6 months ago and while I had some of these symptoms (eye pain, left sholder pain, shooting pains in head) all of my tests came back fine - CT, MRI and blood.  Several months have gone by and about 2 months ago my eye started to hurt, watery eye, head pain and now in last 24 hours I have pain behind my left ear and my jaw and it seems to be firm to the touch.... needless to say the worst has gone through my mind.  I have also experienced dizziness, tingling in my legs and a little discomfort in my left calf.  I am not one to run to the doctor for every pain I have and like to take the "wait and see attitude".  I have not read any posts about pain or a firmness to anyones left ear or right behind the ear.  Any additional information would be nice....
