For as long as I can remember I would have this pain shooting down the left side of my body when I twisted my head to the left (it doesn't happen all the time). I would get a shooting pain like I was being stabbed: (but not stinging pain) in my tongue, at the left side of my head including top and temples and would go all the way through my head and over my face (including left eye would go blurry) and go down my body to my toes. It leaves me dizzy and in a lot of pain. The pain lasts about 10 minutes. It can happen at any moment and it causes me a lot of pain as after it happens I just feel weak on my left side. I am really worried. Should I go see a doctor ?
Hello,
You may have something as simple as a pulled muscle in your neck and the top of your shoulder. This is common especially if you sit at a desk/computer all day long and angle your head downward and to one side. See if you can get someone to massage that area and get that knot out of there. You can also try a cold compress for 10 to 15 minutes. Wait for a half hour or so and apply a warm compress. Alternate these two for several times. Then, use warm compress for several days when you can. Try taking a warm shower and have the water hit that side in a hard or pusating stream. This will act a s a massage and ease any tension you have there. I doubt you have anything to worry about. Just try and get that muscle relaxed.
