Hello there.

So I took my cat to the regular check. She is healthy, nothing is going on with her, but she is having some dental problems. She has some stains on her teeth and vet told me that she has weak teeth. I don’t know why because I am cleaning her teeth regular and I could swear that she has perfect teeth. But I guess that I am wrong.

It came across my mind that dry food can help my cat deal with dental problems. I mean, we were discussing about this so many times.

I want to know what do you think, should I give my cat dry food?

Tnx a lot!

Hello. If your cat has some dental issues I am pretty sure that dry food can help you. But still that is not solution for a life, it is a temporary solution. The main cause of dental issues in your cat you need to look up. Food can help you but I am pretty convinced that dry food can’t heal dental issues. I am a little bit old fashioned, but I think that dry food is not that good for our pets. If you want to feed your cat with it do it, but don’t feed her constantly with it. Mix it with wet, raw and maybe cooked food.

Hey.

I am against it :) You can’t feed your cat only with dry food. No way.

Why?

Because dry food is topically made from rendered ingredients such as chicken and bone meat. Did you know that rendering starts with animal – source ingredients being fed into a massive grinder just to reduce them to the chunks? This food is then boiled on high temperatures for hours. Even days! Everything is turning to mush, fat goes on top of the food, etc.

It is high in proteins but I am not sure are those proteins good for your cat.

I was reading a lot about it. And I don’t like what I saw.

Hey.

You should do whatever you think that you should. If you want to feed your cat with dry food just do it. But you need to be aware that you will need to recoup some ingredients and some vitamins and minerals that are missing with some other foods, some other ingredients.

I also believe that dry food is not a cure for your cat’s dental problems.

You need to find what really caused this and then try to find the best cure.

Dry food is OK for dental problems and you can even prevent them but you cannot heal your cat's teeth with dry food.
