I am 16 and i just tried the monistat 1 and it was fine up until 20 minutes later my vagina started to itch so bad. I had to start the bath and rinse my vagina with a tool i had for my wisdom teeth (to take out the stuff out of my drains) to squirt water up my vagina to stop take the stuff out. It helped a lot now my vagina just burns a little and is swollen i hope the next person good luck and i suggest not to try to use it. The worse part of the whole thing is i have an interview for a job tomorrow i really didn't want to be that itchy during it.

I have to say, I used the Monistat 1 day treatment before and did not have any problem with it. This time, I started to notice the signs of a yeast infection, so I went right to the store and purchased it again not thinking anything of it. Oh. My. God. It was fine after I first inserted the ovule. Last night when I went to sleep? I wanted to die. And today at work its even worse! I sit at a desk all day and its this constant lingering pain. When I get up to walk? WORSE. WAY WORSE. Im hoping this going away within the next few hours. Its lasted all day so far. I do have tight jeans on, so im hoping once I go to my second job (I bartend and WILL be changing in to leggings for that shift) that it will balance out a bit because this is just intolerable. I just took an Aleve, my first pain killer of the day, and am also hoping it may help me out. NEVER AGAIN. The dosage is obviously way too strong. And when I called my GYN she tried to perscribe me a 3 day treatment of the same stuff. I told her I would wait to see if this one worked. No way am I going through this again. She better find a pill she can give me.

OMG!!!  So about a week ago I thought I had a yeast infection so I bought Monistat 1, came home and inserted the ovule. The burning and itching went from moderate to severe and I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room.  Cold sweats, teeth grinding, etc.  I waited it out and the next day it was a little better, not much but a little.  I started mixing my own mild vinegar and salt water solution and was swabbing with it about every hour.  It soothed it, but it still wasn't fixed.  The next day I decided to soak a tampon in the vinegar and salt water solution and insert it since the itching and burning, although now not too bad, seemed further inside my vagina.  I left it in for about an hour and then removed it, and although this was soothing, I realized something huge.  The ovule never came out.  The Monistat 1 ovule was still inside of me and only traces came out on the tampon.  How the hell am I supposed to get this out.  I continued on the fourth day to swab with the solution but was getting really tired of the sensation of itching and burning, and the need to keep going over this ritual.  Finally today I decided to by a pack of 4 Summer's Eve douches and empty the solution out of it and refill it with a solution of lavender essential oil and water.  Once I used that, holy hell, the ovule started to come out.  I went to the store to get more douches and emptied them all.  Six of them I had to use and I finally feel some relief, immediate relief too.  Thank God!!!  The ovule came out in chucked and bits (as if it had burst which it should have) but just got stuck up there, and was very blood tinged.  I am sorry to gross you all out but I think it is very important to write this all as this is where I have turned to for the last five days while I went though this, and this forum is really what got me through it.  Good luck to anyone else who has this problem.  This was the worst.

At least you ladies had the sense to try it at night before bed. Not the case with me. Used the monistat 1 ovule right before a long bartending shift at a busy music venue. About 20 mins after insertion I was itching and burning so bad the thought of taking a cheese grater to my lady parts was sounding like heaven. I couldn't do anything about it. I had customers! It was so hard not clamping my legs together and making a mad dash to the ladies room. To my credit I think the only thing that might have given me away was my voice was an octave higher. About 1 hr in the itching subsided somewhat but was replaced by severe swelling which, while not painful, was definitely uncomfortable and worrying. The next morning I felt much better. The itching and burning while still there, were very minimal and less than before I had started the treatment. I would not recommend this product. Either way you're not getting any action for a week or so regardless. The medicine seeps out slowly over the course of a few days so even if you're Lady treasure is feeling fantastic you don't want to ooze monistat all over your man and risk him burning and itching. If I had it to do all over again (knock on wood!) I would go oral pill.

Also... I SADLY get plenty of yeast infections and im 20 and everything makes you get one and it seems as though if you have a weaker immune system ANYTHING will trigger it... sitting to long in a wet bathing suit anything... anyways I came on here to see the reviews on the Monistat 1 and i've camr to the conclusion im better off just using the Monistat 3 which ia good for me... Also THANK GOODNESS im not the only one that wants to take a back scratcher to relieve the itching down there with it... good luck to all the ladies... its not fun.. y dont men have to have these issues :(

OMG i used monistat 1 today during lunch, for first 30 minutes i felt fine then i felt this horrible itching and burning worse than the actual yeast infection, i will never use this again, I've used the 7 day treatment and even 3 day with no problems. The 1 day ovule is just too darn strong, my coochie was on fire, i had to go to bathroom, mind you i was at work, and pour 2 cups of cold water down there and try to wash as much off of my outter vagina as possible, recommend going to doc or if you are self treating go ahead and use the 7 day and don't expect to get any "action" quickly..yeasteez are no fun at all, good luck ladies sucks being a woman sometimes doesn't it!

Must be super allergic cause every post ive seen is about 3 or 1 day monistat, but i used 7 day for the first time and had a hoorrible reaction. Right after inserting the cream i felt slight burning and light-headedness, googled it and found out it was very common, and decided to wait it out. 15 minutes later i was totally swollen and in excrutiating pain, sat in the shower crying for 40 minutes and tried to rinse as much out as possible. It;s been 10 minutes since then, feeling a little better, deciding to wait it out and visit a dr, in the morning. This stuff is awful, someone needs to protest this..

Hey, I had the same exact situation happen. I put the suppository in and it started to warm up "significantly" down there lol. So I logged in and started reading the horror stories. I figured if it didnt get worse I could live with it. I watched a movie and did my hair to keep my mind off of it...Couple hours later and I'm pretty good, the warming stopped. I did go to the bathroom and a significant amount flushed out but so far so good.

I used Monistat 1 like you're suppose to, right when you are about to go to bed. It worked wonders for me. I sleep 8 hours and everything is normal for the rest of the week. I prefer this because it knocks everything out in such a short time. But I agree that everyone is different, so what works for me may not work for you. I hope things get better for you all.

At my doctor's (emailed) recommendation, I just tried the cream insert of Monistat 3 ... I don't even know if it's a yeast infection, she just said it sounded like one! My mostly irritating infection (whatever it is) has gone from annoyingly itchy with some irritation to nearly unbearable! I started getting intense burning just a minute after using it. Tried to lie down and sleep, but was nearly trembling from the intense burning/itching. Took a bath to try to rinse out some of the cream (at 2:30 a.m.!) and it's not much better, though some cream did come out. This was more than two hours ago and no relief ... am demanding to be seen by the doctor tomorrow or be given the pill(s) instead because there's NO WAY I'm using this again, even just for two more nights. I can only hope I can fall asleep at some point and wake up with the flare up lessened. :(
