Hello, folks. A good friend of mine is a passionate smoker. He has been smoking for 30 years. Unfortunately, ha has been recently discovered a throat cancer. I would like to know if this type of cancer is related in any way with smoking. I would appreciate this piece of info.
Hi, there. Of course that smoking is one of the main factors for throat cancer. Tobacco damages the lining of cells in upper throat. Smokers have more tendencies to develop this type of cancer than non-smokers. Any kind of tobacco can be guilty. Even chewing tobacco is dangerous. Of course there are other factors such as excessive use of alcohol, leukoplakia, human papilloma virus, etc. Perhaps your friend had several risk factors. I hope she will be fine. I hope this helps. Bye!
