Sounds like the glossopharyngeal nerve was damaged. If you are still having issues see another ENT or neurologist. I am 4 weeks post-op and think that the dr may have accidently damaged that nerve. I also read the problems this nerve can give is extremely painful.

Glossopharegyeal neuralgia. Google the symptoms if you have this then your surgeon has damaged the nerves and you must see a neurologist. It is extremely painful and rare but it happens.

hi how are you doing right now? cause I also get ear aches and headaches. my throat hurts a lot still especially with talking. it's still red and even right now there's a white bump on it as well. It's been 6 months and I feel like nothing has changed after like 2 months after the tonsillectomy. I've been again and again to the doctor who did the surgery on me. but he also doesn't know what to do with me. tried antibiotics as well. he says it will take another six months but it doesn't seem to get better at all... I honestly don't know what to do because my plan was to go to a music school in September but I don't think it's going to work because I can't sing at all right now. I feel hopeless.

Hello, I am 55 I had mine taken out in Jan 2025 I am still having major pain on the left side my throat, neck, ear headaches now I think from all the pain. I am not able to lay on that side it hurts awful. my voice is like I smoke 20 packs of cigarettes a day for 52 years of my 55 years, lol. I have had a Ct scan since I have enlarged glands, but I was told that shouldn't be doing all this....I can't handle much more once again I woke up crying in pain and lost at what to try or do next....
