Sore throat w/ Swollen gums & Mouth Problems.

It would be a LIFESAVER if someone who had these symptoms lets us know what the problem was so I can get treated asap! I'm dying here.

Let me give you guys an update. Went to the doctor yesterday - they are not sure what's wrong. Said it could be a viral infection. Doctor says she doesn't think it's a Herpes outbreak. Did lab tests today to see if it's Herpes type 2, Mono, an STD like syphilis. I think my doctor plans to rule out stuff as the test results come in. Frustrating they don't know - that's their job!

I'm on Day 5 of having sores. I am getting more every day. I have a cluster of them around my original 3 from saturday, and more on other locations. Also a couple inside my cheeks and some at the back of my throat. One on my lip still. I am still fighting the fever and my gums are horrible. Totally inflamed - really bad that when I try to brush or floss, they bleed. I still don't know what's wrong with me. I don't seem to be getting better and I do plan on giving it more time but i think I might take some doxycyclin or something. 

Help!

i have a similar problem re mouth and throat but also includes dizziness poor coordination and head aches 2_3 weeks of yellow loose bowel motions. Toxoplasmosis has been found current on 2 tester tests but signs and symptoms are not text book for toxoplasmosis. I think a protozoa virus / bacteria my well be involved as the primary infection? It's been about 3 months now peeking 3 weeks ago with relapses of lesser severity. I feel about 50% strong compared to my normal active self. 42 years old normally fit and health male.

I have the same problem and omg they hurt like a B**** :'(  I started getting a sore throat on Saturday night and on Sunday I had a really high fever. On Monday my mouth was hurting which was making it hard for me to eat and drink. I had this white little blister in the inside of my bottom lip and I also noticed my bottom gums were really red, later that night my throat was keeping me up. I couldn't swallow what so ever so I did my research and it all added up to oral herpes. Omg I was so scared out of my mind because on Saturday night I was kissing my boyfriend so I thought he gave it to me. I ran to the mirror and checked my tongue and there it was blisters all over my tongue. Just looking at it was making me want to vomit. I couldn't sleep at all! I went to the doctor the next day and she said I had strep but at first I had no idea these were the symptoms for strep. So I kindly ask her if I had Herpes and she responded with I don't know. I was confused and asked her how much is the fee for the test and she said it was about 250 to 500 and i'm thinking f**k that might as well get over it and live my new life. Anyways thank got it wasn't Herpes. My tongue hurt so bad that anything I eat or drink it starts to sting even at random moments. To be honest with you I feel helpless. Its been 4 days with these blisters on my tongue and swollen gums and they just seem to not go away. I can't talk or brush my teeth. When I try too I break down crying. I'm scared, emotional and hungry asf! 

I'm having pain in the roof of my mouth on just one side and it feels very swollen and hot and all of my teeth are aching on the one side. I was on vacation so I went to the ER and they put me on an antibiotic and pain medicene, so I could get home and go to my dentist. ( have an appt. on Wed.) The pain meds did nothing but I had motrin 800's and I'm still on the anti biotics. Does this sound like shingles?

my daughter has this kind of sickness too but she has fever for 4 days until now i dont have any idea what sickness is this...tomorrow we are going to the dr. to do some test in her blood.hope its not so serious..

I have this as well and I'm 13 I haven't been able to eat for 4 days now can u plz tell me what it is I'm getting freaked out the doctor gave me penicillin and it gave me thrush as well as this my 12 year old molars where coming through and my gums went and swelled right over top of them I went to the doctors and got tested and its not strep throat

You can just take super lysine for these problems caused by virus. It works for us and lots of our friends.

Started as sore throat, thought it was a sinus infection.  Then my thoat hurt so bad every swallow was agony so I thought it was Strep.  Went to the Dr, rapid test was neg for strep, got a shot of penecilan (sp?), throat slowly started getting better but my Gums swelled up so much I could not eat and constantly in pain.  Strep Culture came back neg.  Back to the Dr he said with the swollen gums and my previous symptons its Oral Herpes.  He prescribed me an anti viral and 12 hours later my gums are starting to feel better and the swelling is going down.  This was miserable to go through.  Hopefully this helps out.

Just found this post. I have been to two doctors. One told me it was viral and I would have to wait it out, the other wrote me a prescription for acyclovir and an antiviral med. I have been reading and have not seen a cure, or an accurate diagnosis. 

Can anyone help?

I have had the swollen glands, gums, and sore throat for three days before the canker sores came and took over my mouth. My upper pallate is swollen and has patches of white on it.

Yeah for little kids it is called the herpes simplex virus, and I have all those problems and I told that it's severe tonsillitis

GUYS. IT'S ALL REALLY SIMPLE. A majority of the symptoms you are posting are all related to strep in one way or another. Strep is a bacterial infection that yes, can infect the mouth and tongue, etc. I went to the doctor a couple days ago and tested negative for strep A but she presumed strep anyways because she had been seeing many different classes of it lately. My gums are swollen and I have sores on my tongue; yes it is painful, but once she put me on the amoxicillin (antibiotic similar to penicillin) I've started to notice that my sore throat is getting better. I did go to the ER yesterday morning because my uvula had become swollen and I was gagging on it every once in awhile. They simply gave me an antinflammatory and sent me home and I'm already starting to feel better. You guys seem to be overreacting, as it takes any antibiotic at least a few days to show any signs of improvement, and you MUST take the full week (or so) of doses in order to see actual recovery. So I hate to say this, but you have to wait it out... I know its painful because that's what I'm going through right now too.
