Two summers ago I got really sick. My throat swoll up and mucus was lining the walls making it hard to breathe eat or drink water. After going to the doctor several times and getting a few doses of different shots it got better. I'd wake up at night crying or screaming because I'd suddenly be unable to breathe. On my final visit to the doctor's he told me that if the swelling didn't go down I'd have to go to the hospital because if not I was going to start dehydrating. I'd started to cough up blood by this point because I was straining my throat too much.

It's because of this the new feeling I'm getting is scaring me. About three days ago I began to have an ache at the corner of my throat where you'd take someone's pulse. When I swollow there's a sharp stabby feeling there. A similar thing from last time is mucus traveling down from my nose and down my throat clogging a bit and being mucky. When I drink something cold it feels slightly better but the juice or water seems to stay a bit at the top of my throat. It went away briefly last night and then came back. How alarmed should I be?
Ouch it sounds like that's not a good idea. I don't think that being alarmed or worried is very productive--I usually tell people that if they're worried, go to the doctor and get it checked because it sounds like it would be a good idea. The pain in your throat doesn't sound very good. Let me know how you're doing, okay? Has the pain gone away?
