This may sound like a silly question, as we all know what an "STD" is. It seems quite clear by it's title, that it is only SEXUALLY transmitted.
However, what if you are a lab technician, doctor, or something...and you hurt yourself that cuts through your glove and are exposed to a sample infected with chlamydia and/or gonorrhea? Can that person contract the disease in that way and will the disease then behave vaginally as it usually does or will it only affect the location in which the person was exposed?
thanks!

hey justme,
well the answer depends on what "STD" you are refering too. if it is a blood borne std like HIV or Hepatitis then yes it can be spread if a sample is exposed to a cut in your skin but if it is something like gonorrhea or chlymidia then you have to get that bacteria into an environment sutiable for infection for example a vagina rectum or penis (but keep in mind gonorrhea and chlymidia can infect the eye and mouth as well so if you had infected samples on your gloves or hands and rubbed your eye or touched your mouth then you can get an infection there. but it will not jump to your reproductive organs just because it is an STD.
Does this make sense??
if you need any clarification just let me know.
thanks ;-)
