Hi, my doctor prescribed me a very low dose of amitriptyline. I'm not sure if these have done anything or whether I'm slowly getting better myself? I have to go back soon for a review, will update. I feel better than when all this first started but still very sensitive in certain areas!

Hi all, just thought I'd jump in and offer suggestions. I originally got a uti almost 10 years ago, ended up in the er from excessive blood. Even since I suffer on and off, no infection just dribbles and the arousal feeling afterwards. It still annoys me but a few things help me significantly. Im suffering now because I've been so busy I've forgotton to keep to my routine. If I'm good I can go years without a relapse. -always lean back when having a wee, right back so your back touches the cistern. If I lean forward... Boom! Every time. -regular washes with a strong soap, be very very thorough. Salt baths, detol baths are good too. Anything antibacterial is great. I know I'm increasing my risk of thrush, but I rarely get it anyhow. - go regularly. Never hold, go straight away. - drink loads, and ural satchel help with an onset. - I have noticed these episodes can be hormonal, with increasing risk just before menstruation. So hormonal treatment (the pill?. May help, the mini pill helped me.

Hi all Thought I may add some input may or may not be similar but I too went through issues about six years ago which originally started with a UTI and a script for cipro. After months of the problem being worse yet all cultures coming back negative I went to almost every specialist under the sun gyno x 3, intestinal specialists, had an appendectomy which was suspected as being the issue etc etc approx 50 doc visits in total! Eventually after two years I was referred to a gyno urologist who diagnosed me with pelvic floor dysfunction and prescribed me 7 days of diazepam. Much to my disbelief after having immense life upheaval and going to the loo 30x a day my relief came four days after starting the diazepam and was completely cured for at least six months. I now know if I get a UTI and am prescribed antibiotics to also ask for diazepam from my gp who spent the years of suffering finding the cure. I now wonder if the muscle spasms which cause this are potentially a side effect of cipro which started this but either way ladies it might be worth looking into with your gp. It is similar to the ampytriptiline but for me was the only think to provide a definitive cure :)

Anybody find relief? I'm currently suffering from these symptoms and I had the constant arousal feeling. I HATE IT! I'm only on my second day of antibiotics, but I just can't take this. Let me know if anybody found relief. PLEASE!

Hi there,

I'm so glad I found this thread! I've had this sensation for ages now and it has really stressed me out, I'm on edge anxious and can't concentrate. Just wondering why I feel uncomfortably aroused/over sensitive! Definitely thought I was going insane. Still its not looking positive for a solution :(

I had 3 or 4 uti's this year and got rid with anti biotics and now this.

Please please if anyone has gotten rid of it let us know.

Hello. Let me tell you my story. When I was 17 in college I started getting a weird stabbing pain in my groin and side. I thought I had apendacitus at first. Following that I was in bed one night an my clit started throbbing like I was turned on, but I wasn't. I'm quite prudish not into sex massively and never masterbate. However I felt I had to so I did but the feeling in my clit didn't go away. Like a constantly throbbing sometimes almost feels itchy. I did the wrong thing and googled it and it came up with PGAS and yep I was terrified kept crying and the symptoms got worse. After about a week they went and I forgot about it but it came back again a few weeks later so I spent days in bed depressed. It's not painful but it's distracting and uncomfortable and makes you feel ashamed. I suffered with utis so I went to drs and tried to explain it they took a sample and said I had an infection however I had no pain like usual when I urinate. I took the medicine but I got no better I think it was me though adding to it. The stress and panic thinking of what I read online.. It went on though on and off for over a year taking me into university. I actually started getting severely depressed and once took an overdose. I just couldn't handle how it made me feel. Meanwhile I saw a specialist about my utis and was put on ammatryptaline just a low dose. Then a miracle happened it went.. For 5 whole years with only 2 or 3 short spells which I worked out were linked to ovulation period. But.. I don't know if it was the ammatryptaline because I went through a break up from a 7 year old relationship and I was so unhappy and heartbroken I lost loads of weight and it was all I was thinking about so it took my mind off the weird sensation then I kinda just forgot bout it I've been traveling alone and everything in past few years.. But now.. It's back. The crazy thing is though I had the groin pain again!! And it was around ovulation time.. Now I am depressed again. It ruined Xmas. However thinking back now I can't excuse how there were times I didnt feel it then I'd be going on holiday with friends and worry I'd feel it so then it came back? It's almost like I'm creating it.. But I know I'm not because I hadn't thought about it in years this time. I think it's a hormonal problem an once it arrives u obsess an stress I also suffer from anxiety. I take the contraceptive pill now to try calm my hormones. I find when in desperate for a wee the feeling goes then soon as I wee it's back I'm so sorry this has happened to you try stay strong. Xx

I had the same problem, I would have these pulsating feelings around my clitoris after I go pee. It would like stay for hour or more. After reading all these blogs, I was scared to death I LL never be healed. But I am like 99% fixed now. What helped me was I stopped using any cranberry or d-mannose supplements, stopped eating any acidic foods(this especially helped, i guess it helped my body to recover), drinking fresh vegetable( carrots, brocolli, celery, wheat grass, kale, spinach, ginger), and eating non flavored yogurt, and only drinking spring (not purified water) water. For my food, got organic food, whole grains, brown rice, no sugars, like oats for breakfast with nothing in it. These were like extreme changes that i made just with a hope to get fixed. I am glad I did it was worth it. Hope you all feel better as well. Body has the capability to heal itself, i guess we just need to give it time and good nutrition.
