2 months ago I started training judo. I learned some basics now, so I can even practice at home with my younger brother. I'm always stretching to avoid injuries, but I can't seem to convince my brother to do the same thing. It bores him. Can you explain stretching more detailed so that I can tell him why he must do that?

I'm training aikido for 6 years now and I have to say that the stretching is a very, very important thing to do in the beginning of class. Ninety percent of techniques in both of our martial arts are based on making twists on joints and limbs that stretch muscle, tendons and ligaments more than they would ordinary extend. This is a big opportunity for injury to happen, and good stretching prevents that.
