What nobody has mentioned is that its THE ORDER IB WHICH YOU DRINK VERSUS DOSE THE BUPE!!! If you take your dose of bupe, give it an hour then slowly drink you can sling back a few bc the two intensify each other instead of clash in precipitated wd fashion. If you drink FIRST and THEN TAKE YOR DOSE OF BUPE get ready to get to know the nearest toilet. Your brain senses the prescence of alcohol in the form of an opiate(if your an addict than your brain treats alcohol as an opiate like heroin because it looks the same) and then the bupe attacks the receptor cites in precipitated wd to the extent of the amount of alcohol currently in your body when you dosed. HORRIBLE. 8-12 HOURS OF VOMIT. So just wait half an hour for every drink to leave your system bf you dose. For ex. 3 margaritas.....1.5-2.0hrs on safe side bf you dose. If you dose bf you drink than none of this matters. B safe

I have radiculopathhy, which is extensive spinal cord nerve pain from a car wreck. I was on methadone and oxytocin 30 and wanted off. Got on suboxone and it got me off opiates and killed my pain. It gave me my life back for about a year, then it stopped killing the pain so I started drinking alcohol with suboxone and it stopped the severe pain but I'm extremely concerned about all the health problems that alcohol causes. High blood pressure, stroke, memory loss, dementia, coordination, confusion, fatigue, liver disease.etc! I don't know what to do I want off alcohol but done want to be in pain 24/7. I sure am open for suggestions!!!

My doctor never told me not to drink with suboxone, and I've never been a big drinker, so I will have a few drinks now and again. I've been on suboxone for years. But every six months give or take I have been getting very sick. Starts with a headache then throwing up over and over and feeling worse than I ever have. A couple weeks ago I had to leave work for this and the cab dropped me a block from my door and it took me a half hour to walk that block.
Now I'm starting to think the cause is alcohol. I think I may have drunk the night before every time. But never more than two or three drinks maximum. I do get a bit drunk from three drinks, it's not true that suboxone makes you immune. But then most times I drink and do not get sick. I wonder if it's a function of how soon after or before drinking I take the suboxone. I never thought this was the cause of my intermittent illness but after reading this thread I suspect it is. No big loss I don't like alcohol much anyway. But years out I still miss heroin so much. Suboxone has definitely saved my life.

Suboxone on its own is very strong. If you are not used to it it will make you very dizzy and nauseous.

I took a quarter of a suboxone today (am a recovering addict and craving lately). Tried drinking a cpl beers with my dad tonight. I'm so nauseated I feel like I've got the flu....headaches, severe nausea, dizziness. Don't think I'll be mixing the 2 in the future

That is not correct.

Correct information in this post. If anything it could intensify, not diminish the effects

I've been taking 8/2 MG suboxone for years, I've never drank until a month ago and since I started drinking I can not function right. I've been feeling really tired and cant sleep, I find myself sleeping alot and no motivation, this has caused me cramps, headaches, etc. Don't recommend it at all....
