Hi there, as of recent i've been having this problem also. Well i say recently, the last month and a half or so it's been happening. I've been having high amounts of carbohydrates, medium amounts of sugar, low protein, I drink almost 2 litres of water and I'm 19. Im younger so I'd assume my body has a higher tolerance to these sorts of ailments but i too am starting to be fearful of what this may spell out. I feel warm, sweaty and itchy as i pass and my stool is usually soft and comes only with a bit of force if you catch me drift. This can happen unto 6 times day easily and every day without fail it happens. I get my sore head usually as I'm washing my hands after I've stood up. The full dunt of the ache usually kicks in as i get to the bathroom door then its full on for maybe unto an hour sometimes. I reckon it may be low water levels as it feels almost like a dehydration headache in the centre of my head just slightly above my eyes, the centre of my brain hurts as do the veins on either side of my head. They usually uncomfortably pulsate and the veins are very pronounced. Sorry if this is far too detailed for the faint of heart... or stomach but I hope this helps a few people with their situation

I'm convinced this issue with me has to be diet related. It happens very infrequently and utterly random times, 1 or 2 times a year.

If you drink milk this sometimes may occur. Also too many caffeine drinks can cause this. And finally believe it or not, some oils used in cooking can. Stress is a major factor.

Have you ever been checked for carcinoid syndrome.? These are tumors (mainly in colon) but other places too. They can emit abnormal amounts of endocrine hormones which could give these type of symptoms sporadically. Maybe having a BM could put pressure on tumors causing them to react. There is a blood test and urine test that can determine this possibility.

I also had the same exact thing happened to me first it happened when I was having diarrhea instantly the headache came on the pressure and the pounding was so bad I thought for sure I was going to drop dead right there on the toilet. It happened again when I threw up. Whether I throw up or go to the bathroom regular or loose it happens. Tomorrow they will be reading my MRI I have never in my life felt anything so painful

ihope that you are ok and that you sought other help by now.. (the post is old).. im not a doctor but having first hand wittnessed 3 brain aneurysms..two ending in the loss of afriend.. i can say that some doctors are quick to write off catscans if nothing is already bleeding.. but stretching before breakage is (from what ive researched) a major cause of the high/fluctuating bp as well as the headaches.. lowering pressure can prevent or delay the rupture that causes the bleed.. and thus save your life while doctors work a preventative sollution for you. (If this stretching of blood passages is the cause of your symptoms). Doctors need to take referrals more seriously and they need to have a second doctor with them as they look over cat scan results (preferrably fresh out of med school with a goal to impress).. always demand at least two opinions of everything when your life is at stake and never allow both opinions to be delivered together.. seperate the doctors and ask them to inform you of any questionable results/opinions that they may be holding back for the sake of integrity.. Hope you were just stressed about the headache..and everything is fine.

You described what I JUST went through late last night!!! I thought i was dying literally! I even said in my head,"Thats it,im gonna die here on the freaking toilet and my kids and husband are gonna find me like this". What a way to freaking go!!! It was so so weird,i went to go pee and then suddenly i was like,oh great i gotta sh*t now too,I left my laptop open so the cats can reek havoc so yeah i was thrilled lol. ALL the sudden I gotta go #2 but its a strain, cant just get it out,noo not without this sudden awful onset of sh*tpain that i couldnt believe,i mean my tummy hurt,it was burning as it was coming out and my heart began racing and then my head felt like a Balloon on a helium tank as it slowly blowing it up,as if my head was gonna combust at the end, then when the straining stopped id take slow deep breaths and TRY to calm myself down and i felt so faint and fatigue like i was gonna pass out! I said,i cant do this again,if i have to strain with that pain and pushing 1 more time,im gonna fricking die! I NEVER had this before!!! By the time it was over, firstly i was shocked and glad i was alive,i was exhausted and then i thought "i hope i dont have a aneurysm" So now im kinda nervous, not as much after finding all of you here but still a lil uneasy! Its clearly not a Biased symptom lol,we are talking different ages, races and backgrounds here. This makes me very nervous here seeing all of us with this and yet NO diagnosis??? I have high BP occasionally, but im 42 yrs old,not menopause yet,ive had NO C sections before, not a fan of meat or poultry, just mashed potatoes and cereals, veggies and Salads in the last 3 days. But i didnt notice,i could have a BM for the last 2 days and I was blocked up some and maybe i had a minute tummy virus because the smell was quite unusual granted sh*t stinks anytime imo haha, but its was unpleasant as if i ate something bad or didnt dissolve well. Im hoping we all can figure out a common denominator here lol. The ONLY meds im currently taking is Catapres/Clonidine and Nifedipine/Adalat cc for my BP and Suboxone for my pain management,Ibuprofen when needed and a simply daily multivitamin. Im obese for my age, yeah thanks to the horrid chart as i disapprove being "obese" lol,but yeah im a little overweight for my age and I am Caucasian. NO headache history,NO known allergies except seasonal outdoor ones depending and no known food allergies. Stress, uhm yeah, enormous,my dad just died the other day, financially im a wreck and emotionally. I got bad nerves and maybe it is a contributer. But hey, arent we all in 1 way or another? I just hope there isnt some new health probklem that they have discovered yet,but seems more of a "womens" thing. Luckily we are all here and survived this nightmare!!!! Its a good day if that the case ;)

Csf leak . If you get a chance u might want to research it. Often goes undiagnosed . Try laying completely flat on the bed with your chest higher then your head

THUNDER CLAP HEADACHES...This is what they are called. It has happened to me 6 times in 10 years. One lasted 4 weeks long. It always happened when I was having a b.m. My sister is in the hospital with a brain bleed, it was during a b.m.. If this ever happens to me I am calling an ambulance to take to the hospital. My doctor said they are not serious.....he is wrong

Hey guys well I read a bunch of replies and none of you really offer help just seem to be getting them same symptoms... this has been happening for a few years... mid bm I'll get an excruciating head ache and light headed... I find taking deep breathes when it started to happen lessens the pain down to less then a minute.... I think it has something to do with water intake as this ussually happens in the morning but has happened all times of day... but for those of you wondering about how to subside the pain I found drinking water before bed or through out the night prevents this from happening in am... and when you feel the pain come on take big deep breathes in exhaling as fast as you can to get more OXYGEN to your brain... I was speaking to my Dr. About it and his theory is when your straining to move your business your body changes your blood flow to your lower body more so you can add presure and expand your intestines making you release your poop and in this process your brain gets a short lack of oxygen... essentially your brain is suffocating briefly and that's what causes the pain...
