I first started with zyrtec and singulair daily. This helped me alot. I am now down to only zyrtec which is now over the counter. I hope this might help. XD

Wow!!! I thought I was losing it too! My itching started with the hands and feet about 7-8 months ago..I have progressed to the CRAZY itch all over. Same as some..It starts mostly at night or for no reason at all. It has started tonight!!!!! I have been to hospitals and doctors...It got so bad that the staff at the emergency room, would just say "you are itching again?" Then the series of questions would start, basically to see if I am crazy. I was put on antihistamine and predisone. Which I thought Yippie, I am cured..Not..end of presricption, end of relief. When I ended up back at emergency room a few weeks later, I received another round of meds.
While I was at the pharmacy, I had an intersting conversation with my pharmacists: She advised me that when you have an allergic reaction you have to keep a certain level of antihistamine in your bloodstream...Some people can do this by taking 1 form of antihistamine..But others require more! FYI..ANTIHISTAMINES ARE RATED BY LEVELS (1-4) THERE ARE SEVERAL MEDS, PRESCRIPTION/OVER THE COUNTER THAT ARE LEVEL 1,2, ETC. I ended up with several levels. Talk with your Doc about what is best in your case.
Unfournately, the treatment helped for about a month..but could not continue..because of my bloodsugar. Now I take zyrtec faifthfully, but I still have some major episodes of "the CRAZY ITCH"
Glad to know I am not the only one!! :-P

Ok, I'm 17 and no where near the metapose cycle and yet I'm experiencing lack of sleep due to the overwhelming burning and itching in my hands, feet, and lower hip and thigh areas. I'm pregnant and I'm begining to think that its due to a rash that I got while being exposed to Fifths Dieases. I just need to know if there is anything that I can do for it.

I have had this problem of itching of my hands, feet and face (sometimes hives on my face and neck). I have, also, dermatagraphicism. A condition that with any minor skin trauma (like tight elastic) leaves you with itchy, red, burning whelps. The culprit? I'm not sure. What I've noticed is it is better since I stopped all artificial sweeteners, but not gone. I was taking 1 allergy pill / day and am now down to 1/2 pill every 2-3 days since stopping the aspartame. What seems to aggravate this condition is when my skin temperature becomes warm, ie: when I get under the covers of my bed, increase in room temperature; and also eating spicy foods. This happens any time of the day, not just night time. So- o-o-o-o, is this an allergy? Being a nurse myself, YES, I do believe so, but to what? I don't know this. I've been trying to pull things out of my diet, one thing at a time. The only slight relief has been quitting the aspartame. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to know.
