I have undergone laproscopic surgery last month. Doctor have advised that I should not carry heavy weights which is more than 8 kgs. But I do see a tummy bulge , can I join swimming inorder to take care of the bulge, or as advised by the doctor wait for six months.
Hi Lorendsa! I would rather listen to the doctor and whait for six months. I read somehwere that as soon as you recover from anaesthesia you should try to move, but it's been amonth since then. That helps to get rid of any gas trapped in the abdomen and also reduces risk of developing pneumonia thromboembolism and adhesion formation. I read also that climbing a long flight of stairs should be avoided. Strenuous activities such as lifting weight, straining and vigorous exercise should be avoided at least 14 days after laparoscopic surgery. Swiming is dangerous also if you are using some public pool, they are infested with bacteria. you dont want to get a nasty infection. I know it sounds gross but its unfortunately true. You should consult your doctor if you have questions before starting any new activity. When it coms to bulge, I thing it's nomal manifestation after a surgery. I head it afer a thyroid gland removal and my doctor said that it's OK. All the best to you.
Yes.. i will wait for six months, but after that I can carry on with my normal activities. I have resumed work immediately after 10 days from the surgery, I still get some pain in the abdomen is it normal? But recently I had too much of pain in the lower left abdomen and lower back pain as well, and I am scared is it the post operation pain or gallbladder or kidney stone problem. I am really scared. I visited a physician he prescirbed some antacid for me ruling out the possibility of kidney stone or gallbladder stone problem. I think I must visit the gneacologist once to take her opinion as well.
Hi there. Well I guess some pain is normal but I'm not sure about that too much of pain in the lower left abdomen and lower back pain, though that could be an post operation pain too. Yes, visiting your ginecologist is a realy good idea. I bealive it's noting serious, so don't be scared. Get well soon.
