I have had this for Id say 5+ years. I started with ex boyfriend...not at first but later in relationship. I actually believed i was allergic to his sperm. I have since not been with him and have gotten it off and on but never as bad as i did with him. I am very clean both medically and hygenic. I have never been able to even explain the pain or symptoms vut moat of these are pretty damn close. My clitorus is very angry and red and hurts like a needle prick just touching it. My outer lips at the top opening itch so bad I get little cuts around it..maybe from the itching. I have used at the OT and prescribed meds but has at times made it worse because Im not treating the real problem. Its not yeast, I dont always have discharge with it and its not with odor. So I have bought just basic anti itch to use on the outer lips opening after i wash hands, wipe vagina with sanitizex wipe and with qtip apply cream. It helps the itch and burning until I go potty and it doea still burn but i wipe gently and pat fully dry and repeat steps. I recently went back to dye free detergent and contiplating washing my undies seperatly with NO downy. I believe its an allergy of some kind and its such a sensitive area and noone wants to go around itching. Its by far the most uncomfortable feeling but i feel PH has alot to do with it. Less is best as you want to avoid more irritants. I have used a warm wash cloth to soothe the alangry when its been at its worse. Just remember, your bot gross, dirty or deseased. Its a pH system that needs to be kept in check. If its not yeast....dont treat it for yeast.
It's really late to be commenting (I see this post is over a year old), but I get swelling/burning/irritation in the clit and vulva area on occasion that will last a day or two, depending, due to herpes that I got from my husband like 10 years ago. A lot of people dont know that herpes affects the nervous system and isnt just blisters. My outbreaks are often internal, as in a burning or pain in the internal vaginal area, or the symptoms you have described. There are also other more serious std's with similar systems that you shouldnt ignore. Herpes can be spread even through oral sex by someone who gets cold sores - even if they dont have one at the moment. Maybe you ahould look into those kinds of things, because most men who have things like that dont know at all - it's usually women who show symptoms and gets contracted by accident when someone has had other partners in their past, no matter how clean they are.
Again, it may not be herpes, but definitely could be because symptoms include lower innume system which can cause infections, blisters, or nervous system irritation at the site that manifests as swelling, etc. And also again, IF that turns out to be the problem (which it may not be), please know that around 90% of the world's population carries oral herpes even if they never get a cold sore in their life. And oral herpes can turn into genital herpes, so dont be mad at your guy because it's as common as the flu or anything else and men very often never know they are a carrier. Hopefully it's something much more minor, but it's really not a terrible thing to live with if you keep your immune system healthy with lots of vitamins, herbs, and probiotics (since like 70% of the immune system is in the gut). It will cut outbreaks way back. I usually have symptoms after a period for a couple of days, but there have been times it lasted a couple of weeks back when I didnt take care of myself so well.
