Hi,
near the start of 2009 i had multiple colds which caused me to feel quite run down and that is when i first noticed my swollen lymph nodes, then i kept on noticing that it hadn't gone down and i got increasingly more worried about it, i mentioned it to a doctor but he took one short look in the mouth and said it wasn't anything to worry about (didn't seem like much use to me!)
i've now got a bit of a cold again and multiple other nodes have all appeared, some larger than others and i can't help but worry about the fact the other didn't go down (it has now got even bigger as of this cold coming on)
My main concern is the fact that other node never went down and it's now being made even bigger by my current cold, what should i do abotu it? i might wait till my cold has gone and goto my doctor and pretend i haven't had a cold purely so he pays more attention to it than he would if i had said i had a cold, is this a naughty thing to do or a good way to go about my concerns?

Hi:
It sounds like you need a second opinion. It is true that your lymph nodes will swell when you are fighting an infection. However, your case sounds a little extraordinary. Your doctor is obligated to listen to and address your concerns. You should keep asking until you are satisfied that your concerns have been investigated. Don't give up. There are serious ailments that re related to swollen glands. Please insist on answers and try a different doctor. Take care. Please let us know what you find out and how you are doing.
