Hello everyone, im gonna see if any one can possibly give me some advice on my swollen lymph nodes in the left side of my neck. It started out as one, so i went to the doctor. I had no cold or anything of that sort prior to the doctor visit. He put me on antibiotics and the lymph node didnt not go down in size at all. Then I found another swollen lymph node below the first one and went to the doctor again and he actually just sent me home and said to go back if they get worse or another one appears, a week later i felt worse so i went back and got put on another round of antibiotics which yet again did nothing and that doctor said the same thing "come back if you feel worse or find another swollen lymph node"......well a third appeared about a week later. So far I there is no tenderness in the swollen lymph nodes, and they almost feel condensed or harder if thats possible, and i feel extreme weakness and fatigue. This has been going on for 3 months now, they are all in the same region (posterior cervical and supraclavicular regions) Blood work showed no infection or virus so now I have an appointment with a specialist in a couple weeks for a biopsy.
My husband had a similar swelling of the supraclavicular node. Just came back from the doctor and he has been detected with Tuberculosis of the supraclavicular node. The doctor has said that it is not contagious like lung TB. This means 6 months of medicines. He is 32, well built but had a bad cough since 4 weeks. This kind of tuberculosis spreads through stale food. We both are working full time and eat out a lot but I guess we can never be sure where he got this one. Doctor was suspecting something worse like Hodgkin's.
Hi,,when i had this same problem,my lymph node was swollen on left side of my neck,i was told that once they are rasied it can take months for them to settle back down again,so worth getting checked and routine bloods done, but if you done that and worried cause its still up after month this can be perfectly normal if everything else comes back ok.
Hi, My left supraclavicular lymph node is swollen as well. I noticed something back in July and either forgot about it or it actually went away. Anyway about a month ago i discovered a swollent spot on my left side again and went to the doctor. He perscribed an antibiotic for ten days and I just had a CT scan today. In that CT scan they discovered a couple more swollen lymph nodes in my chest too. I go back again to get a full chest CT scan and a biopsy on my neck lymph node on Friday. Did anyone else have this happen too? Please let me know as I am really scared. I am only 33 yrs old and have three young children at home.
I have swelling of the left supraclavicular lymph node. It is about 1" high and 4" from side to side. It isn't painful. My Dr. has scheduled me for a CT scan of my neck and chest, and did blood tests. I will come back and let you know if I get any answers.
I went to the doctors with swelling on the left side of my neck. It seems to start at my clavicle & goes around from there. It was at least golf ball sized & I went to the docs a week after I felt the swelling. Dont know how long it was there before I felt it. My doc said from the feel of it ( it feels "squishy" not hard ) that he did not believe it was a tumor. He felt it was cat-scratch disease. I had scratches on my hands that were almost healed, but we have also had cats for 30 years & I have been scratched dozens of times. He gave me a Z-pac of antibiotics (6 pills over 5 days), a chest x-ray ( which came back "normal") & blood work (which I have not gotten results yet). While I was taking the anti-biotics, the swelling went down, but never completely went away. A couple of days after completing the anti-biotics, the swelling is coming back. I have a follow up visit in one week. I dont know if I should be concerned. I have no real pain, but have an ache on the left side of my neck, from the back of my neck around to my ear & jawline. The ache is not steady & is sometimes very uncomfortable. Also, the swelling is not always the same, sometimes it seems bigger or smaller. Like I said before, I dont know if I should be concerned, but am worried none the less.
I have very major swelling in my supraclavicular fossas on both sides. Both about 2 inches long and and basically fill up the area between my collarbone and neck. Has been like that for about 6 months or so but I just thought I was "getting older" and that it was normal until my doctor saw it. The look on her face was unforgettable. The nodes are not painful and are soft. She has ordered bloodwork and then a possible CT scan, dependant on the blood results. Have also been gaining weight but not eating any differently than I have before. Also noticing that my hair is very dry and breaking off. Also my stomach has been pretty swollen for a few years (also thought this was age related). I have read all of the posts here but don't see any "outcomes". Has anyone gotten a diagnosis? Everything I read about this symptom points to bad outcomes and I can't help but be very concerned. Thanks.
I just got my blood work back. The only elevation was MPV 12.6. Now what?
My supraclavicular lymph nodes have been swollen for 3 days now, the let more than the right. My white blood was normal so no sign of infection. Guess I should go to dr .............
I dont know what type of dr to c. Should I go to a ENT or my primary dr??????
Your symptoms sound just like mine. I am a 47 yr old female & thought aging is what this was along w/ the drying hair. I have to go for a ct chest scan & mri of the neck. What happen in your case ?
I would like to know what your diagnosis was ? I am a 47 yr old woman & attributed all those same symptoms to aging. What was your outcome ? I now have to get a chest CT & Mri of Neck as i am also worried b/c of what I am reading. Please Reply
You need to see a Doctor right away. Those are a constellation of symptoms that could be serious.
right side pain on my neck, just obove my collarbone.
If you have a family history of lymphoma I would not take this lightly. Make sure your doctor listens to you and runs the necessary tests to rule out everything
