I am sexually active woman and I had few partners during last few months. I didn’t take care enough so lately I feel kind of fear. I am listening about people who have problems with Chlymidia, so now I wonder how to recognize if I could have it without going to my gynecologist? Which are the symptoms, or how could I know if I am infected?

Chlymidia is known as “silent” disease. Reason for this is that 75% of infected women and half of infected men have absolutely no symptoms. If the symptoms occur they usually appear with 1 or 3 weeks of exposure. That means the infection is not diagnosed or treated until there are some complications. If you doubt of having Chlamydia or you are not concerned about it, you and your sexual partner both should see a health care provider right now. Cervix is first attacked with woman. Symptoms might include an abnormal vaginal discharge or unpleasant sensation, such as burning is while urinating. Also, lower abdominal pain low back pain, nausea, fever bleeding between menstrual periods and pain during sex are some of the symptoms. Just to mention once again, these symptoms sometimes doesn’t have to occur so if you have any doubt you should go to gynecologist.
