I just started Michael's deal..it's nice to know that I can eat chicken because I really enjoy it. I think that if you try, it will work. You can still eat garlic mashed potatoes and baked potatoes...you still can have fruit and eggs...and you can even still have steak..just in MODERATION...you can't go out to Applebees and order a 16oz sirloin-you just have to eat in moderation and don't use oils and sodium...you can cook with garlic, just don't use garlic salt and powder. I think I feel really good to know I am at least trying...follow it to a T - I know it seem shard but...it's only 6 weeks to try it, then you can alter it a little - keep trying- :-P

I am sorry to hear it didn't work for some of you. I have done many diets, some of them good; but the weight came off very slowly, to the point that, if I cheated only one time at week (at dinner) I would gain everything I lost in the whole week. Not with this program. I am so happy! I have lost 20 pounds so far and the weight keeps coming off.
I know how hard it is and how much expectations we all have when we start a diet, but this program is not a scam.

I HAVE TRIED THE MICHAEL THURMOND PROGRAM AND SOUTH BEACH BOTH WORK EXCELLENT, BUT THE COST OF SOUTH BEACH IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND YOU HAVE TO DO ALOT OF COOKING AND PLANNING OF MEALS, WITH THE 6 WK MAKEOVER YOU AND PLAN YOUR MEALS SO FAR AHEAD AND THE COST IS VERY LOW COMPARE TO SOUTH BEACH, AND WITH 6 WK MAKEOVER MY BLOOD PRESSURE AND CHOLESTEROL WAS VERY LOW AND THE WAS MY REASON FOR DOING THE DIET.

Has anyone thought that maybe their negative experiences with "diets" is because of a medical issue ie: Thyroid problems? Check into it.

:-D I started out on Michaels 6 day plan to see if it was worth going to the 6 week plan. It was the first diet that I thought I could live with especially since it said "eat more, exercise less". I am 100 pounds over weight and I felt lousy most of the time. I have been on the diet for 11 days(I am waiting for the 6 wk plan to arrive.) I haven't felt this good in a lot of years. I have to admit that I did stick to the eating plan to a T, but did not have time to exercise as required. I lost 20 lbs. in 11 days...yes, I am sure that most of it may be water, etc. but I wasn't able to lose on any other diet. I feel better, sleep better, have more energy, my acid reflux hasn't bothered me at all, my joints feel better, and I don't have that bloated heavy feeling....I actually feel so good that I don't want to go off of it...if you eat the right things at the right times, it will work...I can't wait for the 6 wk plan. Good luck....at the end of the 6 weeks, I intend to write again....hopefully 30 lbs lighter and I can live with this diet long term.

The michael thurmond 6 weeks body makeover worked for me!! I am 6'6"+ and weighed over 290lbs after being in the hospital for 5 months and 26 days laying flat on my back in the hospital bed and unable to walk. My friends would visit and bring me junk food to cheer me up; I gained 68+ lbs.

Not every program works for everybody, but unless you have a documented glanular problem which slows down your metabolism or some other medical condition which slows down your metabolism or pervents you from being active, there is no reason known to me that should prevent the program from working!

You have to make a mental decision, take a mental stand, be strong, be disciplined (self-disciplined) and be proactive in your weight loss efforst. Buying the program and leaving it on a shelf won't work...following the plan and not exercising will NOT WORK, and eating the WRONG foods WON'T WORK - combine both of these and FAILURE IS GUARANTEED!!

Okay..just my two cents..I started my plan last week and for all of you naysayers...unless you have a medical problem there is no reason if you follow this plan that it shouldn't work. I have already lost 8lbs and it has not even been a week yet. I eat small meals all the time and I will tell you I don't have cravings at all. And I am never hungry. The only thing I have not been able to do is exercise as I had a cold for 5 days. However, it did not stop me from starting the program. I have followed it to a tee. I could not believe when I weighed myself the 2nd day and had already lost 3.5 lbs. This is incredible to me as I have been following the South Beach diet with little results. I just can't wait until I can use the treadmill so I will be that much closer to my goal! Yahoo!!!

:'( I am sorry to see two negative remarks about Michael Thurmond 6 week body makeover. :-D In fall of 2005 I purchased the program and lost 50 lbs. from 200 to 150, I have put back on 15 lbs. but am back on the program in a strick way and I know I can drop 20 lbs. as fast or as slow as I want to. Please re-read all your information and take the test over for your body type, maybe that was off and is why you all did not lose. I wish you well in your attempt to lose weight. You have to be extreamly commited to cooking your meals and reading the information and answer all question honestly. I hope you all have seen your doctor to rule out any physical or chemical problems.
Try judging your sucess by the way clothes fit and not what the scale is telling you.

I am on the 4th day of the first week and i am following my menu to the letter.. the food and everything TO THE LETTER AND I HAVE GAINED 3 POUNDS!!!! i want to send an email to mr. thurmund but i cannot find his email address. can anyone help me.!!! the book says that you should loose at least 10 pounds the first week well i don't think that will happen if i have gained 3 on the 4th day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have just started working out, you might have gained the few pounds from muscle. I see that happen at the gym all the time. Don't give up.

Hi, I am 64 years old and have lost over 2,000 pounds and regained each and every one of those pounds. I have tried every diet possible. Finally by idetifying my body type and doing what I need to do for it along with drinking 100 ounces of water a day, I have lost over 60 pounds.

You need to make it want to work.
The book says that body type A shouldn't eat beef and when I did I gained a pound.

I've worked as a flight attendant for several years and whenever I needed to get down to regulation weight -I used 6 week Body Makeover--Simply put follow the very easy plan and speed up your metabolism and easily lose unwanted pounds and tone up. For those who proclaim it to be a scam-I claim that you are not following the program-try the rapid results plan for at least 10days then vary with the gourmet and easy. Chances are for the 2 it did not work for, you probably did the wrong body typing. Maybe even cooked your food wrong. I have been large my entire life. I started the plan and after 3 days my pants were falling off. I cheated everyday. It works. You just did something wrong. Start over and read everything. Again it works.

I bought it, used it and even without exercising, lost 5 lbs in the first week. It is just time consuming to buy and prepare the food. Not to mention a little more expensive than buying all the powdered processed c**p we put into our moouths. But yes, if you take the time, follow the directions...it really does work.
