I've been on the program and lost lot of weight. It takes patience, it takes time - the weight didn't show up on your butt overnight, don't expect it to come off of it miraculously either! It takes planning, and if you are doing the program correctly, you'll actually be hungry before your next meal. My one disappointment with the plan is the customer service department who doesn't have a clue - one person wil tell you one thing, another will tell you something else. That was frustrating.

Definitely not a scam, but another thing is that the "real" program where you go to LA, work with a real trainer, and get a customized meal plan is NOT the same as the $99 plan you buy online. I'm about to actually take 6 weeks off and go to LA to do this right. The other plan has the one on one program but its totally hokey - cmon, I'd like to see the trainer call someone on the phone from 3000 miles away to ask what they had to eat today - can see the "oh I followed it to a T" only to have a bag of chips sitting there..for $1500 I want real contact not someone who I have no clue who they are giving me advice, ya know?

the Six week body make over is definitely not a scam. I followed it to the T and lost 11 pounds in the 1st week and a half. My mom followed it and lost 47 lbs. You must be willing to give in and gussy up the will power(which was really hard for me) but I did it. I found though through others that tried to cheat or take shorts cuts by using frozen foods and instant teas that it does not work as well. You NEED to follow it exactly as it says and it WILL work for you. Try again maybe just a bit or a lot harder this time. If you start thinking you will fail, then you WILL fail.
THIS PROGRAM WORKS!

This shouldn't be a diet. It should be a plan, a plan that is a lifestyle change. He's trying to get you to think right and eat right, get you to proper proportions.

You shouldn't be putting back on the weight, if you are then you didn't make a lifestyle change. Eating healthy and excercising and being healthy should be something that you do every day, not a sometime thing but an all time thing. That's EXACTLY WHY DIETS NEVER WORK because they imply short term! Think LONG TERM!!!!

Have you looked at this guy? I would like to see what his fat gut looks like - HELLO PEOPLE -- MICHAEL THURMOND IS A FAT GUY SELLING A DIET PLAN!!!

This cannot possibly be a scam. As a fitness instructor I can tell you one thing for sure...if you take in fewer calories than you burn you will lose weight....period. If you are not losing weight on this or any other system then you are either not eating properly and cheating or you are not working out. Period. There is no way that ANYONE who eats properly and exercises regularly (and I mean regularly!) will not lose weight. The only exception is someone who has a medical condition that would interfere with weight loss. And that is the ONLY exception. I have had a ton of people come in to take my fitness program and quit after 3 weeks because they "haven't lose a pound". Well come to find out that they were eating a load of garbage and they would only come to class twice a week....that will not do it!!! If you did not lose weight, don't blame the program. Examine your lifestyle and see what is standing in the way. Educate yourself on the glycemic load and index and keep track of the calories you are taking in vs. the calories you are burning. I would be willing to bet that you will find the problem did not lie with the program.

I tried this plan in 2004 It worked well for me, I lost 35 lbs. Unfortunately, I believe because of my own will power and picking back up bad habbits, I gained back 25 lbs of it within the past year.

I had tried another diet at the beginning of last year to take off a few more pounds, I was almost at my ideal weight but had some real trouble getting off those last 10 stubborn pounds, I think the other diet is what screwed me up. I should have stuck with what worked. I do not wish to mention what diet because I am affiliated with them in a business sense.

If it didn't worked for you... then, you didn't followed the plan as you supposed to. You have to cut off EVERYTHING that says you can not consume and add in your menu what you can have. I've started like a week and a half ago and I'm down 15 lbs (the first week I lost 13 lbs)!! I'm adding my cardio workout and my sculpting exercises along with the food. I also eat at the recomended times between 2.5 hrs to every 3 hrs in between. It doesn't matter how fat you are or how much weight you need to lose... THIS PLAN REALLY WORKS!! I'm just amazed of my results that I can't help myself to look in the mirrow and see the difference in me (and my energy) and not to mention my jeans.

YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW IT BY THE BOOK!! I think you didn't followe right and you cheated along the way... that will make you not lose any weight at all. If it didn't worked for you... it can work for other people (like myself). I truly am glad I have it because it really teaches you how to eat healthy and your body/metabolism get use to eating the right foods for you to lose weight.

Sorry it didn't work for you and I truly believe the 6WBMO is NOT A SCAM!!!

Thank you!!

Odd to be posting this reply, but I saw some negative reviews of Michael Thurmond's 6-week Body Makeover and felt compelled to respond. I am trying to lose weight...again...but I used Michael Thurmond's plan about 2 years ago and successfully lost weight. In 6-weeks I lost 26lbs (though I think the program garuntees 30lbs) and continued on to lose a total of 47lbs on the program. It was the EASIEST diet I'd ever been on. You eat all the time and are truly never hungry. My problem was I got lazy and once my weight loss slowed down I started eating really unhealthy foods and exercising less until 2 years later I've gained all the weight back. But I'm not blaming Michael Thurmond for that...it's completely my fault. I've struggled with trying it again, but have been discouraged because of my failure and the chore of all that cooking. That is the only real drawback about Michael Thurmond's plan...you have to buy and cook a lot of food. It can get expensive because healthy food always leads to a bigger bill at the grocery store than junk food...that's the real scam...our local supermarket! And the cooking can be tiresome, as well as packaging and carrying around all your meals as you go to work, school, whatever. But what it costs in convenience and grocery bills is well worth the benefit. The easiet weight I've ever lost and I've tried many ways. Eventhough I messed myself up, I'm gonna get back on the horse. These negative comments kinda helped me find my motivation. Feeling the need to defend the 6-week body makeover has reminded me how great I felt (and looked) when on the plan. I'm starting again...Monday.

OK, people.....I decided to jump in here and post my 2 cents. I have been on every diet on the planet. My first was when I was 8 years old, and I just turned 40. I have been on SouthBeach, Atkins, Low Fat, Low Calorie, 3 Day, 3 Hour, Slimfast, Weight Watchers, and the diets provided by my doctors. I'm sure I missed some, but you get the point, I'm sure. I have been exercising regularly (aerobics 5-7 days a week) for the last 10 years. With every diet I either lost very little, lost so slow that it was de-motivating, or gained it all back over time. None of the plans were acceptable to stick with for the long term. So, I got back up to 63 pounds overweight.

4 weeks ago, I got the 6 Week Body Makeover. I have already lost 15 pounds. I don't really like to cook, but guess what? I hate the fat hanging on my body more than I dislike cooking......so, I cook. This plan is a lifestyle change, not a diet. And, it is one that I feel that I can live with for the long term, even after I lose the weight. It is a plan where you eat whole, real, healthy foods instead of processed junk. You eat a lot, and you do not go hungry. And, it works.

So, for those of you sitting on the fence, go ahead and try. It is worth it.

I registered just to say my 2 cents worth ... 6 years ago my husband and I both did the 6-week makeover ... We each lost 50 pounds .. I lost much faster because he never lifted a finger to exercise. I was 54 and he was 61 at the time .... for the full 50 pounds it was almost 3 months for me and just over 3 months for him.
Anyone who follows this plan EXACTLY -- including the vitamins, exercise, eating every two hours (very hard to do when you are working, but you can!) and drinking tons of water ... you have to lose weight ... if you are saying you did all that and didn't lose, I'm thinking you are fooling yourself ... I remember those days too ... And if it really and truly didn't work for you, maybe you should see a physician and find out if there is a physical problem blocking weight loss.
I quit smoking last year and am back on the diet to get off my smoke free fat and am again losing about 3 pounds a week ... even at 60!

I don't think this is a scam at all and I'm so sorry that you didn't have results. My guess is that you might have picked the wrong body type. The information can be a little overwhelming and is hard to figure out unless you look it over very carefully. Try again. Also, this is such a healthy way to eat that you would have had to lose weight if followed to the T, unless you might have a medical problem you need to have checked out with your Dr. Be sure to drink your water, it's a little hard to get down, I know. Really give it a try and don't cheat. You know, this reminds me in a way of the original W. Watcher's plan and that really worked! My mom did it when I was a kid and I knew it by heart. Now they have so many add ons of food that you can actually eat really badly (junk food) and still be 'legal'. That's why I liked this so much. Hope you'll have better success this time around. Check out the forums on his website to talk with real people who have had great sucess.

It's not "magically" at all. It works if you follow it as it is explained. Once you get your metabolism going, you will lose wieght even faster.

I lost 6 pounds in the first week and 40 in total in 6 weeks and I didn't even use the "rapid results" part of it. I have continued it after that and lost another 7 lbs. I have maintained my low weight ever since, which never happened after a normal diet. I love the fact that now I know what to eat and what is good for me, what is not and what I should combine and what I should not. All my life I was into sports with the exception of the last years when I was sick and hence gained all that weight which I couldn't fend off anymore with any method. In terms of nutrition or exercise I followed different "great advices" from lots of specialists - none which worked for all these years.

With this program I changed my whole metabolism and body as I never had it before, with all the sports I've been doing, before I gained all the weight because of illness. Nothing else worked, until I found this plan.

It works for life.

I have recommended it to my relatives and friends and it works for all of them too, for various age spans and different body types, even for those that always had weight problems and nothing else worked. So where exactly does the "magically" come in for all these people?

Calling this a scam is really over the top - for an incredible low cost you get the same advice and the same strategies as if you would pay thousand times as much going to "a specialized spa" or to doctors and nutritionists and personal trainer etc.

You get to follow your own plan. It;s all a matter of sticking to the plan and setting your mind into it - yes, there are easier days and harder days, but if you want to do it, you will do it, if not, not.

If eating alone doesn't work for you, do the advised fat burning walk routine, which is a pleasure to do or/and do the resistance training part to increase your muscles, that will in turn burn more fat.

If you don't want to do any physical exercise then maybe it will take you a little longer to lose weight, but that is every individual's choice. Nobody forces you one way or another.

It all depends on you and your perseverance. Do the quiz again, maybe you haven't done it correct and you got a different body type than you should.

I think they even offer to pay you back if you claim you haven't lost weight, so I don't see where the "scam" is and the reasons are for calling it like that and giving such 'useful advice' to people that want to try it and can very well successful at it.

I have used the Thurmond plan and have lost 20 pounds within two months. My husband lost weight following my eating plan. My daughter followed it, lost over 25 pounds, with her husband finding that it normalized his blood sugar. (he was borderline diabetic). This all happened without any dedicated exercise. So, if we were to exercise, I am sure it would go even faster. During the summer we were cheating and could still bring down the 2 or 3 pounds we put on by following Micheal's plan. I agree...not everything works for everyone. This DOES NOT MAKE IT A SCAM. Is Weight Watchers a scam because it didn't work for me? I think not when you read all of the testimonials. Do not be so quick to label something just because you did not like it.
