I had my whole upper colon taken out, and kept the lower bowel. At first i lost a lot of weight and my stomach was just about flat again. Now years later i have the same problem as you guys do. I hate it, and i feel it will never go away. I can't ware cut clothes because of it and i feel so fat and ugly! If anyone knows the answer to getting it to go down, please tell me.

am facing the same thing, I had umbilical hernia surgery performed on me in 2001, and my stomach sticks out like am 9 months
pregnant. I went back to the surgeon and complained; He said it was because I was over weight. But before the surgery my stomach was normal and not protruding, Believe me it was the worst day of my life. I wished I had never even had the hernia surgery, and just wore a waist band around my abdomen. Because my stomach still protrudes still today, and did every exercise
in the book and got no positive results.

I had colon resectioning (12" removed Diverticulitis) I am 38 year old male and have crevice near navel. Luckily my abundance of manly chest and belly hair hides this well. Just thought id send a laugh to you all!!! :) Good luck everyone as this was a surgery I needed to move on with life and was very successful to date. Soreness in belly button from healing post 4 weeks into surgery. Have a nice day!

What insurance covered your plastic surgery? I have Anthem and I'm in need of the procedure (fingers crossed).

Hi I had this operation twice. Once when 4 months old and then again at 12 years old as scar tissue had broken away over years and blocked my bowel and intestines were all twisted etc so had another emergency operation. I have an 8 inches scar vertical on my abdomen and because it was done many years ago and I was so tiny ( im 47 now ) it looks like it been done with a blunt instrument ... my stomach has never looked smith obviously due to indent where double scar us ... but it was always quite flat fortunately ... anyway this past 6 months I have been working out 5 times a week .... yogaloates , pilates , circuit , swimming and circuit training and I could cry ... my body is toned ... great but my abdomen has gone massive .... looks deformed and like a big hard bottom .... its awful ... This has only happened since I've been exercising ... I'm not overweight or anything. Can anyone shed any light on this please ? I was wondering if it's because I have scar tissue my abdominal muscles are toning but all uneven .... oh its c**p ..... I've stopped exercising now . I'm upset about this but then have to put my big girl pants on and remember im lucky to be alive.
Hope someone can help and take care everyone .
Amanda ( u.k )
