Exactly the same as me, my Doc says the bulge just left of my solar plexus is an incisional hernia. I am waiting to see my surgeon to see if there are any options open to me regarding repair. I will keep you informed. I would be interested to know how your progress goes.
Regards Damian.

I know its been awhile since your post..but...
I'm 8 months post op and I can't stand the protruding either. I had a scan and my muscle has weakened and pulled about, I was told.
I've been wearing an abdominal belt around the house for 3 dats and I swear I already see a diference. Have you had any luck with yours? Has it changed yet?

Hey. I'm going thru the same. 8 months post op. I had a scan, with results my primary called surgeon who did colon surgery. I didn't care for him and wasn't going back to him. He told her I had a hernia. 2 weeks after colon surgery I broke my ankle, more surgery and basically bed ridden almost 3 months. Think that screwed my stomach up. But I see a lot if people have this problem.
I went to another surgeon, he looked at my scan and said, no hernia. I can't think of the name...but the muscle down the middle if stomach separated and is wrak, creating the bulge that I HATE! Only advise was to walk and quit smoking. I read up to wear an abdominal belt, been doing that around the house just 3 days so far and believe I see a difference.
Please let me know how you make out.

I have a scar side to side. I am two and half months post op. My abdomen is now like a round pouch and I feel bloated and fat all the time depressing. They removed eight inches. Robotically done with five holes. The diseased colon was to large to remove thru the holes so they cut me sideways lower abdomen

I had about 12 inches of my colon removed last year and the left side of my stomach sticks out and its still very sensitive.I have since had an ultrasound and they did not see a hernia. I hate the way my stomach looks I can't wear my normal jean anymore had to buy a size larger in order for my stomach not to get pushed up into my diaphragm...it is so discouraging. I have tried exercise but then it hurts after. I am grateful that I don't have diverticulitis anymore.

I’d check out diastasis recti honestly. Sit ups would make it worse and bulge more. I healed mine and it was 4 fingers wide.

After a very successful surgery with several inches of sigmoid colon removed, I have added at least two inches to my waist and look almost pregnant since the area where the colon was removed is not virtually flat. I doubt that anything can be done, just looing for reassurance this is OK.
