My GP thinks I have burning mouth syndrome. He has me on Gabapentin. I have seen seven doctors of various disciplines. The allergist says I have no environmental allergies. I still wonder about medicines that I have to take for Addison's disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The most annoying symptom (other than the pain which is being controlled with the Gabapentin) is the white foamy saliva which accumulates in the back of my throat. A cotton ball. I have developed a persistent cough and am often hoarse from coughing. I am afraid it is another autoimmune disease starting. My fellow " foamies", I am hoping you will have some ideas for me. This has gone on for nearly a year. I am desperate.

You helped me. I've experienced much of the same things and have done many of the same remedies honaturally, because it felt like some kind of instinctual relief. I've never been much of a talker, however, a good vocal outburst might be in order. Will also be going in for an EGD soon, hoping to get some clarification about what is going on. Thank you all for your revelations.

It is parasites. You breathe them in. They cause you to have a white tongue. If you look in your mouth with a flashlight. It will look like glitter. The glitter is the oarasites. Doctors don't know. They go by text books.

Sounds like what I have. I went to a Chinese dr. and a naturopathic dr.
I have Yeast Infection. It can be any where in the body. I had to stop eating sugar and carbs. "They cause you to crave the very things that feed them" I was told. I take anti fungals.
Hope this helps,
Lynn

It could be oral thrush. I just got the same thing. Bring it up to a pediatrician or dentist.
