My doctor thought I had a herpes outbreak. I found a sore down there and the next day they became a little painful so I went into the doctors ( I will add that I have been sick with a fever for five days) I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and stomach flu. Doctor took one look at it and said oh hun this looks like herpes she did a viral culture, antigen test, and antibody test and every single test came back negative three days later with the call . and from what the doctor said she said I was having an "outbreak" so the testing was as the prime time. Should I believe these negative tests, what else could this be, could this just be that my immune system is very weak due to being sick so bacteria that may have normally been in there I was not able to fight off due to being sick. Has this happened to anyone else. I will also add that I have been with the same person for 3 years, so if I had herpes it should have shown up in my blood test if I had gotten it from previous relationships, My partner and nor have been with any other people sexually. I am confused what else could this be?
