I am a 54 years old man and I have a buried penis. Since last week I am experiencing tighten skin on the base of the penis when having an erection. This happens inside the pouch. About 5 mm width of the skin in the penopubic fold wraps around the base of the shaft of the penis, like a second layer of skin. Once the penis is erected, this second skin gets very tight, like a rubber band under tension. It is painful, especially on the bottom side of the penopubic fold. I physically have to pull out the penis, which seems to cause cracks in the skin. It seems as if the penis is (suddenly) a few mm wider in diameter or there is less skin.
Before last week I experienced a leathery penile shaft skin and skin cracks around the base of the shaft. I treated those with oil-based Vitamin A and E for about 4 weeks, which kept the area moist. The cracks healed and the leathery skin improved, but hasn‘t fully recovered yet. I stopped the treatment around a week ago and that is when the tightened skin started to happen and a new skin crack occurred.
Please help me with an opinion about what this might be: Peyronie disease, some kind of fibrosis following an inflammation (I had repeated fungal infections), cancer? What tests I could do to find out what the problem is? I am worried and I would like a direction of investigation before going to a specialist.
Thank you very much!
