Hi Everyone,
I have the same tingling primarily right side of the head but some times all over... I'm happy to report that according to the Neurosurgeon it's nothing alarming and very common. So for the most part I would say don't worry about it. Obviously we all need to use common sense and if there are other major symptoms don't ignore them and get it checked out. I do have other symptoms and continue to go to Drs to try and figure out what is wrong.
My other symptoms include cold hands and feet but only while seated. Deep nerve pain on the top under part of my arm and inner thigh. Cold sensations on my stomach and other parts of my body. And I'm beginning to realize that I think something is affecting basic brain function when it comes to typing... I use to blame it just on typing too fast but I think there is more to it... I will type something and reread only to realize the wrong word was typed... I have exhausted nerve issues and now will focus on circulation as well as plan to explore if it's possible to have a parasite issue from traveling to SE Asia (though I've tested for basic parasites and there is nothing)... Oh one other interesting tid bit... I'm convinced sugar somehow makes it all worse! This has all been going on for about 3 years and I'm 41... Good luck everyone!

I have the same symptoms. What could the cause be...is there an anwer?
I get that every month right before I start my period. I am 49. I never noticed it until menopause. I get that twinge in my head and I think "Oh, I will probably start my period tomorrow", and I do EVERY TIME. Mine is hormone related for sure...
I too have associated this to praying and reading Scripture. Sometimes at church I am over whelmed with the feeling of the tingling on the top of my head and then down the sides.
My situation sounds very similar--but have not noticed any other symptoms. Just a strange tingling on the right side of my scalp about 1 1/2 inches above my ear. It reminds me of how you feel when you may have had a pony tail or clip in your hair for a long time....then when you take it out, your scalp feels a little almost itchy, or like there is still a bobby pin in your hair. For me, the spot is about the size of a half dollar. It doesn't hurt...just that tingly sensation like there's something in your hair. But it's DRIVING ME NUTS!!! When I feel it, I can't stop thinking about it and putting my finger on it and rubbing it to feel for some kind of answer. This is sooooooooooo weird!! HELP!!
I've had the head tingling sensation once in a blue moon the past few yrs, but yesterday I had a wave of icy coldness come over the right side of my head that was really intense & today, all day, it's been wave after wave of tingling pain on the right side of my head. I see that a few people have stated that their periods have started, but I had my period last wk, so I know it's not that & over the last 6 mos. I've had a complete physical, tons of blood work done, pap, ultrasound, colonoscopy, went to the OB-Gyn & they say I'm healthy. No signs of cancer, extra thyroid testing, I'm probably forgetting something...but this tingling is freaking me out. If it doesn't stop tomorrow I'm heading to the doctor.
im 58 years old ihave been suffring from tingling near by left side of head. what coused it? reply me soon.
Hi, In no way am I an expert or authority on any of this. I am only giving you my feedback after going to a neurologist... The Neurologist I went to told me that tingling in your head and or brain is not uncommon or anything to worry about too much. She acted like it could be a pinched nerve or something causing it. So perhaps start with a Chiropractor and or deep tissue massage to make sure all the kinks are worked out! Again, this is my opinion only and I am not a Dr... Good luck!
Same thing started happening to me in my early teens. It happened consistently throughout one day, didn't know why. Now it comes and goes once in a while. Probably related to stress or anxiety because otherwise healthy.
I havd it to the tingling on right side..i also have anxiety depression.when i take my citalopram regularly i hardly have the tingling at all.when I miss it I get the tingling..i was searching why citalapram helps it and what is it when i found this site...i dont know those answers..but citalapram does control it.good luck...its not fatal i assure you.ice had it for yrs mow.
I am extremely relieved to hear that others have the same thing.
I'm 20, and have a strange tingly sensation (like something crawling through my hair) that I cannot explain, on the back of my head.
My dog died several days ago, and I'm battling depression and serious anxiety for the first time in years. I've also had a pretty messed up sleep schedule, which isnt helping.

I had a similar feeling Dave, and I use to meditate a lot. Whenever I feel certain strong emotions, I feel that tingling sensation. Depending on how strong the emotions are, the tingling sensation get's stronger and it spreads. I always wondered what that feeling was and if I was the only one that felt it.
It being blood circulating makes sense.

It looks like your right Dave. I went searching on the net and found an article that explains how you can feel the arteries pulsing when you meditate. This is what it said:
"Meditate. Deep Breathing Meditation increases oxygen to the Brain which also helps increase blood flow to the Brain by a little bit. You'll be able to feel the Arteries pulsing when you are focusing on your breathing. Meditation is another one of those top of the list activities for improving Brain Power."

I have the same thing getting worse. Had spinal fusion last year but lower back so..
I have same exact symptoms on right side. The circulation theory is making sense. I only get it when I am moving. especially after sitting or lying down. Never get it while still. I haven't been meditating lately so will try that...want to anyway. I am in fair health, 78 yrs. non smoker post menopausal of course, no blood sugar problems. Will check out further.
