I've been getting this tingling that rises in waves from behind my right ear to just above it. I noticed it last night, but just 20 minutes ago I had 3-4 waves of it lasting about 5 secs with about 5-10 mins intervals. It's gone now and though I've had these sensations before having it one after the other has concerned me enough to search about it online. It may be just pinched nerves or a hormonal thing as I'm in my late 40's.

I have been having a tigleing sesation behind my ear on the right side radiating halfway to my temple and almost to my shpulder. I don't have periods anymore and not diabetic. I have neck damage from an accident on a motorcycle accident. could it be related?

It is hard to read all these posts and see no answers. I have had this for a year, met with plenty of doctors and here are the results I have had in trying to determine the cause on my own:

Vitamin/mineral deficiency:

I have attempted to correct possible deficiencies that can affect nerves and lead to tingling such as magnesium, B12 and Iron. But eating foods containing these vitamins/minerals and supplementing did not fix the issues.

Food Intolerance:

I've experimented with intolerances to dairy, gluten, corn, soy, coffee, nuts and eggs. Removing these form my diet did not affect the symptoms.

Blood sugar disregulation:

In an attempt to control blood sugar I have tried everything from supplements (cinnamon, vanadyl, bitter melon, chromium) and low carb diets to no avail. Honestly it gets worse on a low carb diet.

Bacterial/parasitic infection:

I've tried every candida diet, parasite cleanse to no avail.

Adrenal fatigue:

I've tried every supplement, technique and diet to help my adrenals but it didn't help.

Interesting note:

One of the things that I have noticed is that mine is worse around drinking coffee, tea or large amounts of water. Usually mine starts after having coffee in the morning or tea in the afternoon. Then the more liquid I drink the worse it gets. It also seems to get worse when I use probiotics or when I am stressed.

One weird thing is I am near-sighted and found that wearing my glasses keeps the tingling from getting really bad which made me wonder if it is silent occular migraine. I really wish someone could figure out what this is and provide a fix.

Scouring internet for answers as well to this tingling that I have recently developed that comes in spasms on different parts of my whole head, sometimes get numbness in jaw. My doctor said it is probably coming from nerves in neck, so am seeing chiro. I am 59, no periods, no major health issues. will keep you posted.

I am having the same tingling in the right side of my head. It's been about 4 days. I am 36 and also hypoglycemic. Weird similarities. Has anyone seen a doctor? I also have optical migraines and thought it may be related to that. It's just so strange.

Thanks so much for this post. I am having the tingling too. I am hypoglycemic but also have ocular migraines. My first thought was that it was probably related. I am going to check in with my doc and will post if I find anything. Thanks again. This was very helpful.

I sort of liked it. It may be my husband, Mother or Father.

Hi there, I was just wondering which antidepressant was recommended for your anxiety disorder. You said that it's really helping to eliminate it. I have a similar problem with anxieties...would you mind letting me know which medication you're taking? I certainly appreciate your feedback... Best Wishes...Nancy

I know heaps of you won't get down to reading this comment but I've had the weirdest night. I'm 18 turning 19 soon, I've had anxiety for as long as I can remover. I've had exactly the same symptoms as almost everybody here on these replies. What's also strange is that I literally decided to quit smoking 10 minutes before stumbling across this page. In that 10 minutes I craked my neck feeling tingles in my back, after lying down on my bed I felt an unusual feeling in my ear. It felt exactly like a bug in my ear or some form of liquid falling out of it. I then felt a tingling feeling in the area above my ear, and then in the opposing ear. But This is gonna sound stupid to some people but, straight after I put my tobacco pouch away in my draw along with the black lighter that I always keep on me(OCD Stuff). I noticed that the creases in my bed sheet and the shadow from my light made an illuminati symbol. I also managed to get a photo of it. I'm not really sure what to make of this, My names Shayden, I live in Austraila.

I am having the tingling sensation right now on right side as I  am typing this. Yes, it  is worrisome and I have been having it several times a day.  I am 91 and in good health otherwise.  Having investigated it on the computer, my fear is that I might be a victim of multiple sclerosis so I guess it means a doctor visit for a diagnosis.  It is helpful that misery has company.  Good luck to you all
